so funny I can get this one, but swinging around the front of the pole from an invert scares the bejeezus out of me.
LOL !!This is still a problem for me as well, but that’s only because I fell out of the move when first learning it. I got a bit cocky so when I went to turn to face the pole I fell into an instant heap on the floor – wasn’t gripping enough with my knees. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif Since then I still have that fear but slowly getting better the more I practice. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Silly question but why is the move easier on spinning?
-
She does these spins quite often in her videos and is in her current one. Best way I can describe it is the hold is similar to if you were going into the teddy move.

Thank you all so much for the advice, looks like I will be working on this move for quite some time! Will definintely work on my basic/advance planks and hopefully the CAR will come to me one day.
I know I haven’t got much going on in the upper thigh area but then I watch performers like Karol Helms I end up thinking what am I doing wrong?! Guess it really is down to technique.

Pole dancing school is where I train and have a number of studios around London. Ecole De Pole is also good.

Was so relieved to find a thread like this!
I find it sooooo embarrassing, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif not only does it happen when I go into inverts or the eagle (chopper), I also experience it when doing stretches, anything that involves lifting the hips and sex. And they’re so loud!
I bought the Kegel 8 earlier on this year, I haven’t used it as much as I should but going on the reviews from other women it works wonders for your lady bits!
Plus it was comfroting to watch a video of Jenyne Butterfly doing her thing on the pole then letting out a queef towards the end. All she did was laugh – you got to admire her for that!

Now I’m really confused! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
Since I’ve been poling and after being told off by my teacher https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I was always under the impression that using lotion was a big no no! My teacher had even said not to use any lotiion a couple days prior to my lessons. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif
So on the days that I know i’m going to pole I bathe but don’t use any lotion on me which is a pain being of black skin (ashy knees and legs is not a pretty sight) but more importantly I don’t want to injure myself or others on the pole.

I’m currently doing my lessons with Pole Dancing School. They have a dedicated pole studio in East London Old Street. The teachers are really lovely and the school provides other services such as conditioning training, practice sessions and aerial hoop classes. The thing I love about this school is that they assess you before you move up a level as opposed to other schools where they just push you forward and you may not even be ready.

I actually take classes and also own a pole.
As I am starting out going to classes is a better option as opposed to teaching myself at home. While it’s all well and good recording yourself and anaylsing where you may be going wrong for me I would not be able to judge for myself what I could do to improve on a particular move or spin without someone who is a professional telling me. I made sure that the school I learn with are certified, which they are under the PDC. I was very fortunate to have a teacher who was excellent, very encouraging and importantly safety conscious.
I have learned from Veena’s videos as well which have been very helpful and can proudly say I can invert safely but personally attending classes, interacting with others and being shown the do’s and don’t is better for me.
There is the added bonus in practicing what I have learnt at home, whereby I feel more confident in exeucting the moves safely and in the correcr manner. So in essence I guess I do have the best of both worlds.

TBH I found I only needed to read the instructions once, after that I was able to put up and take down my x-pert with no problems. It’s very straightforward.

I had this problem as well, ended up having to take them to my local locksmiths as they would not budge. They even commented how tight they were, the guy physically took the x-joints apart and gave the screws some elbow grease (Vaseline) as the screws were bone dry thus making difficult it to release them with the hex key. I haven’t had any problems with it since.
Though it was rather funny telling him what they were and what I used them for! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I’m planning on starting Bikram Yoga also known as Hot Yoga which is supposed to be excellent in helping you to become more flexible. Just hoping I don’t pass out!
