Hi Kerry 🙂
Hello from Toronto!
Hope you're having a lovely day or night seeing as you're in England.
I'm a newbie to this lovely community too! But have been taking Pole classes for a few months now.
Just trying to think of the best way to start. You def. picked the right spin as i'm positive that is the first one they taught us in class. Once you have one spin down, I think you'll find it much much easier to follow up with any other beginner spins ( I believe the 2nd spin we learned was the "ballerina") and the fireman will teach you how to grip the pole 😉
Prior to any spinning, it's pretty important to warm up though 😉 Dance around a little bit, loosen up your hips. Any stretches that you would do to warm up for a sport would do the trick (hamstring / glute / tricep / biceps / back stretches).
I've just signed up for 30 days on Studioveena and the videos that are available would be really helpful to a beginer as it gives a bit of direction 😉
Hope this helps a bit!
Cheers!

This is so good to know! My Xpole just arrived (50mm TG XPert too!) and we're going to set it up this evening 🙂
So so SO excited! Now that I have these few tips to follow, i'm hoping it's be a breeze!
My only worry is that i've been spoiled by using a brass pole during my classes since September. I had a chrome pole for home use before this Xpert TG and definitely had some issues with sticking to it. Mighty grip worked great for holds but when you want to spin it's not very practical.
What is the grip like with the Titanium Gold?? I have my fingers and toes crossed that it'll be better than the chrome! 🙂 my body chemistry just didn't mesh with it properly.
Cheers!
