Veena's lessons are fantastic for learning on your own 🙂 A great option if you live far from a studio! I find that learning at home has definitely advanced my fluidity.
The studio does have it's strong points as well. When woman get into the studio environment and start feeding off of eachother, it sometimes gives you this crazy energy buzz to try things that you didn't think you were capable of.
Either option will work 😉 whether on SV or at the studio, you're surrounded with like minded people who will give you a push if you need it. All you need to do is ask for feedback. You'll get it!
Happy poling!

Aerial arts are awesome to watch let alone try! 🙂
I've been poling for 8 months now and I have my first Aerial (a combo of silks/lyra and rope) class tonight. YAY! So stoked to give it a try!

Ps as soon as I switch the camera on, my hands sWeat profusely! It’s so frustrating!!!!!! 🙁 but camera off and no
Problem -
That’s a loaded question 😉 but a very good one at that
My issues are with my short goofy legs and the way the camera picks up and emphasizes my strangely shaped lower half. It’s so bizarre but I find myself sitting back while watching it and thinking “wow is that really how I look?”.
Everyone is their own worst critic though 😉 anyone who posts a video of themselves pole damcing on the net is pretty ballsy and a least a little bit confident in my books 🙂
Please don’t let body issues stop you from posting videos ladies 🙂 -
That was fantastic!!!!! <3
I have my first Aerial class Wed, SO stoked!

Reenie said it all 🙂 it's not a "DIET" so much as a lifestyle change 😉 You don't want to make all of these positive changes for a couple of months just to go back to what you were eating before….and how you were feeling before 😉
Balance is the key.
it's especially important to make sure that you body is well fueled for well..life…let alone poling! If you're hungry, you're going to feel a bit weak, which never helps you nail those moves you're trying for.
About an hour before poling or any exercise I nibble on something or have a protein shake. This gives your body a bit of time to digest before getting on the pole. I find that if i'm eating a full meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) before poling you feel a bit heavy.
I time it so that after workout/poling, i'm ready to dive into my full meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner).
Right now i'm on a Stripped down plan (Tosca Reno) which has eliminated dairy/bread/sugar. It's definitely not for everyone! But a typical day goes something like this:
Breakfast (around 7am): 1/2 cup oatmeal with 1/2 mashed banana and cinnamon in it + 4 egg whites
Snack (around 10am) : two handfuls of berries + 1 handful of cashew or almonds
Lunch (around 1pm) : 1 chicken breast + 1 cup greens + 1 handful diced veggies all topped with a squeeze of lemon (sounds plain but it's honestly not bad at all)
mid-day snack (4pm ish) : celery sticks with either hummus or almond/peanut butter (or a protein shake)
Dinner (7pm ish) : Veggies + shrimp (or tofu or egg) stirfried with 1 tbsp of sesame oil and seasoned with whatever herbs and spices you like.
I rarely have a snack before bed but if I do it's an piece of fruit usually 🙂
It seems like a LOT of work to cook all of this, but the trick is to take a couple of hours 1 or 2 days a week and prepare everything ahead of time (chicken breast/hardboiled eggs/ cut up veggies etc) so that when you open the fridge or go to make your lunch, the majority of the work is done already.

mmm the illusive splits 🙂
I've never been able to do them and am now on my second week out of the splits in 6 program 🙂 I think it can be done!!
I'm posting progress in my photo section. The stretches seem to be working well!
YOu can do it!
