Hi!! I’m a newbie as well, it’s been a few years since I last was on a pole and I was a newbie at that point as well. I just ordered my pole and as soon as I get it I plan on signing up for lessons. It’s nice to meet another newbie. Hope your enjoying it.

Thanks so much Veena. I decided to go with X-pole. They actually have a powder-coated pole. It’s a bit more expensive but I figure you get what you pay for. I’ve been saving up for a few months for this present and am so excited. When I first tried pole a few years ago I fell in love with it then got a new job, moved, etc. and got away from it. I’m now 49 and hope it won’t be too hard at this age to get back to it. I do weight training but thought this would fill in the gaps as well as give me a good, fun, and sexy upper body and cardio workout as well as just doing something I really enjoy., dancing!! Can’t wait for my pole to get here😊

I'm a Medical Language Specialist, and I work from home.  I used to be a Veterinary Technician quite a few years ago but decided I wanted to work from home, so that's it:)

Have you heard of Brazil Butt Lift with Leandro Carvalho?  I love this workout.  It definitely focuses on your butt, but also on cardio at the same time.  There is also a "Tummy Tuck " (yes that is what it is called) workout with this; it is like 17 minutes long but will kill your abs.  You can check it out at BeachBody.com if your interested.  You will definitely get a great butt and abs as well:)

Hey HyperHorsegirl,  Thanks for the input.  And, you're probably right about him enjoying anything, he's a guy, right:)  I have a few moves I feel comfortable with, I think I'll just practice making them look nice and not worry too much.  I am a bit nervous since I have never done anything like this for him, but he is always so complimentary of me anyway, I know that he would love it, so I guess I better get to practicing.  You were very helpful.

Hey nefashpink, Just wanted to say I feel your pain as well.  I am a newbie to and, like you, I have issues with pain and sliding to the floor as well.  I get so frustrated when I try to climb the pole  and the pain in the top of my foot is excruciating and I always come down with a huge bruise on the top of my foot and think to myself, I can't do this, it's too hard and it hurts, but I refuse to give up.  I have stainless steel pole that's not very good quality (it is constantly getting loose from the ceiling and I always have to stop and tighten) and I slip and slide all over the thing.  Just waiting to be able to buy a good quality pole with a different finish and smaller diameter and maybe that will help with the sliding.  I tried the pole sit the other day, and it felt the skin was coming off my legs, lol:), but I figure if I keep it up, eventually I will get it and be able to do some of the tricks the ladies on here can do.  I also do Veena's workouts on here and other workouts on my own.  Good luck:)
