CONGRATS!! I think that taking care of yourself and finding a good outlet through pole are extremely inspiring! You are a hero!

Oh, My God!!! Hahahahaha!!!!

Natasha, what Kyrsten said and also, I have a tip. My trainer once told me to place the tip of my tongue against the back of my two front teeth during exertion. Somehow, it helps to keep your neck muscles from tensing up too much. I will say that this is a huge issue for me overall, and it does help!

Welcome to the wonderful world of pole! Callouses come with the territory and "ripping" can follow. I have attached a link to a blog by a Veena member which is extremely helpful with rips and other pole related injuries:
Good luck!

Tillykke med fødselsdagen, Klaus! (I had to use an online translator, but you are worth it!!)

I have degeneration in my neck so I get sore from poling a lot! Spin mode or not. My best advise is daily stretching. You can stretch anywhere, anytime. I stretch in the car at a red light, while watching the news, even while on the toilet (i know, TMI)! Do you have Veena's lessons? She has great stretching exercises for the neck. If you don't have the lessons, I'm sure you can do an internet search for some. I like to use a heating pad (with a thin hand towel between pad and skin) for about 15 minutes before I stretch, when I can as it loosens up the muscles. I also stretch my neck after I pole. Lasty, I usually do not put my pole on spin mode until later in my workout when my body is warm and lose. Good luck!

I know one of her favorites is quinoa. She makes it with vegetable broth, and then just adds steamed veggies. One of her favorite places to eat is Chipotle. She can get whatever ingredients she can eat, and then just asks for a bag of the corn tortilla chips when she's at the register. It's her splurge! Good luck my friend!!

It's such an amazing feeling, isn't it? You will have many more moments like this. It's why we're all addicted!! Congratulations!!

rdgcleveland. I agree with Luvlee. Sometimes it's just the timing of a post. Everyone on here strives to be as helpful as they can. I'm sorry that you felt Chemmie was being rude, but I will say that she is one of the most helpful people on this site. I feel strongly that she wasn't trying to be rude or condescending. She is a very matter of fact person and was just stating that she has helped others on this subject before. I hope that you received the help you needed and are inverting away!

I can invert and hang upside down like nobody's business, but I don't do headstands or handstands. I can drop from an Inverted Crucifix and do a handstand with a booty wiggle, but that's about it. I have a huge aversion to them. First, I have a long history with wrist injuries and I know how much pressure handstands put on them. I also have pins in my head, so headstands will never happen. I do see lots of ladies start against the wall and move their feet as close to their head as possible before tucking the knees up and extending the feet. If I could physically do either of these, that's how I would do it. Take your time. You don't have to be able to do everything!! Plenty of awesome moves out there…
