Oh, my sweet, Glitter! I am so sorry to hear this! My belief is that how two people behave in and react to an argument will determine weather they are compatible for the long haul. The most important thing is RESPECT! You can get loud, throw things, swear, whatever. Never, ever should you call the other person names or be completely disrepectful of who they are at their core. It sounds like he has some deep rooted issues with his family that are starting to pour into the present. I think this is what they call Passive Agressive behavior. You have already been given some FANTASTIC advise here. Once things cool off, you and Rikki need to sit down to determine what's really happening. Is he feeling resentment towards you for some reason? Tell him you want to understand why he got so angry. Try not to use the "you" word, as in "You were a f**g a**hole, Why?" Turn it to, "I felt very frustrated and surprised today. What happened? We need to figure out where this anger came from." Maybe he won't feel as defensive. I so agree with Chem. You should have enough respect and friendship with each other to be able to talk this out. Good luck, my friend!

Thanks Everyone. It is still really tender, but the lump is getting smaller very slowly! I suspect I will need to take at least another week before I SM again. Maybe more. I can tell you that I will be much more conscientious once I am up! No fast rolling allowed!

RoseMay, in the side climb, both legs are on the same side of the pole. Getting into the Genie from there is fairly easy (as long as one is able to do a Genie!). See Veena's lesson on the side climb if you need to. When going into the Butterfly, you do need to swing the bottom leg around and up, similar to the Star to Butterfly. It takes a little a bit to wrap your head around it which I why I always take video! On the FL Scorpio to Wrist sit, you just leave the bottom hand in place, pull your torso up slightly, and V your legs. Your bum should naturally fall a bit onto your hand. As I mentioned, I just started working on that last combo. I need to be up a little higher on the pole specifically for the last part! Still working on it! Congrats on your new combo!!

I have found that I don't like to use grip aids because they get all over the pole. There are 2 things that work for me. One is Dove Clinical Strength Anti-Perspirant. It sits on my nightstand. I rub a layer on my hands and fingers before I shut off the light. Rinse it off in the morning. You need to use it for about 4 nights in a row when you first start to use it. After that, I use it about twice a week. My hands used to sweat just holding my husband's hand. Now it doesn't! Another product I love is called Dirty Girl Poltice. It is a product that you put on your hands before you pole. You let it dry and then rinse it off with water. Works great! This product also exfoliates, so it can make your hands soft. In my opinion, I like DGP in the summer when I'm sweatier. For winter I like the Dove because it doesn't make my hands too soft. Hope this helps!

Here is one version of the combo. I know I have a better one somewhere but I have too much stuff to sort through! The first one I do is Gemini/Star/Butterfly. After a minute of mucking around, I do another one with the Flatline Scorpio added at the end. I only do an abbreviated Gemini before the Star, but hopefully this is enough for you to get the idea. Hope this helps!

  • Now that one I might have a vid of. Let me look….

  • I don't have this on vid. I got this combo somewhere on Veena recently and just tried it at class. Still a work in progress for me as well!  I can't remember who my inspiration was! Where are you getting stuck? I might be able to ask someone here to do this.

Thanks, Danielle! I try not to take too many anti-inflammatories because they make me bruise more, but I may have to resort to it. However, I have a migraine today so the codeine I took for that is at least helping wth the pain, haha! I thought I had my booty far enough away. At least I started out that way. I must have gotten over zealous and gone straight up and rolled over it instead of tucking or straddling. I just learned move this recently, so I'm still working on getting the technique down. I really appreciate your feedback. I will continue to ice and rest it (no shoulder mounts at least!) and keep an eye on it. xo -Susan

My answer, which is true, is that I do not like to perform on the pole without a proper warm-up. I explain that this is a fitness apparatus and it is easy to injure yourself if not warmed up properly.
