Here are a few of my options based on some of the above combos:
Mitty Neininger (maybe for a WWII film)
EmmeLu Salt (for a spy based porno)
EmmeLu Christy (for a take on Dr Zhivago)
Gummy Bear (for a cartoon version of a porno)
Champagne Gummy (for…I'm not sure)
EmmeLu Gray (my favorite for several reasons)
My sister picked my Veena web name because it is my birtstone. The original spelling was already taken, so I used Saphyre instead. It sounded mythical.

Ouch, DGP!!

I have a lot of trouble with this as well. I love DGP's advise. I have one other way that I do this stretch that takes off some of the pressure. Hope I can expalin this well.
Lie on the ground on your back, parallel with a wall that has at least 8 feet of space. One hip should beall the way against the wall. Now swivel and put your feet straight up the wall. Your bum should be as close to the wall as possible. So basically, the wall is the chair you are "sitting in" and the floor is your backrest. Place your hands on the outsides of your thighs. Let your legs start to slide into a straddle against the wall, using your hands as a guide so you don't straddle further than you are ready to. Hold this for up to half an hour, gradually letting your legs fall closer to the ground. When you are ready to come out of the stretch, go nice and slow. Foam roll when finished.
I find that this takes the pressure off of my hips and my back, while letting the muscles and ligaments in the legs get used to the stretch.
One last thing. Check out Veenas middle splits stretching and routine. She gives wonderful advise and tips to do this stretch. Make sure you are super warmed up, and don't forget to foam roll! . Here is the link for her middle splits routine:

I agree with AG and Luvlee. It will take time to break in the chrome. I have the same pole as you and it took a while, but now I love it!

As far as songs go, I can't remember ever waking up in the morning without a song in my head. Even when I had severe insomnia for 3 years. They are so much a part of my life, that I never stopped to think how they might be related to something.
Now, as far as psychic abilities, I have a doozy of a story.
First, let me say that I have always been "sensitive". Like Chem & Veena, I sometimes feel that I see something out of the corner of my eye, or I "feel a certain vibe" when I enter a home, or business, or wherever. I once read somewhere that if you do not believe in spirits, you will never see or feel them.
So, about 21 years ago my husband, Dennis (we were not yet married) owned a boat with a friend. We were up in Wisconsin at a lake house with a huge group of people for a day of fun. We went out on the boat with about 8 other people. Two of them were a guy Dennis works with and his girlfriend Cara. We were water skiing for about an hour. Cara had never water skied and she was scared, but excited to try it. The first time out, she almost got all the way up, but didn't quite make it. We floated the boat up so she could grab onto the pull bar for another go, but she didn't see it. Dennis said that he would circle around so she could get another chance to grab it. All of a sudden my body just sort of "seized up", everything around me literally disappeared and was dark. The only thing I saw (in my mind) was the rope around Cara's ankles. Dennis barely even pushed the throttle forward before I screamed "STOP"! Even though he only accelerated for that split second, she was pulled under. All the men on the boat jumped out and swam to her. She was already in shock. We got her to the beach and called 911. She had severe rope abrasions on her ankles and she was treated for those and the shock. As you can imagine, my husband felt horrible and felt responsible for her injuries. All I could think of was, "What if I hadn't had that 'vision'"??? Even that split second injured her. If it had been longer, what injuries would she have sustained?? We'll never know….I feel like my vision quite possibly saved her life.
I have never had another experience quite like that, but it was enough to make me believe that there are people who can truly see and feel things that most people do not. I also believe that the the majority of these folks are creative in some way. We already discussed how complex the brain is and how we only use a small portion of it. I think people who are psychically intuitive are able to tap into unused parts of their brain, even for small seconds of time.
This makes me want to start another related thread, but let's see what else is in store for this one first!!

MemberOctober 19, 2012 at 10:50 am in reply to: Can’t Maintain a controlled Spin in my spinning poleOnce your body is away from the pole and the pole stops and/or slows it can be difficult to get it moving again. For me, I try to do a preceding move that will get me going. For example, I get more spin if I invert straight up (basic invert as opposed to V-Invert)), holding that spin for an extra second or two before I move into the Gemini. If you are up on the pole already, I get more spin if I give a good swing into my inverted aerial before moving into Gemini. If you are close to the floor or ceiling, you can give yourself a little push. Other then that, remember the rule of thumb is that the closer your body is to the pole, the faster you will go. Play around with transitions and see what you can get. Don't forget about Veena's lessons! She shows lots of spinning tricks!

Oh, my gosh! I have to reply to this but I don't have time right now. I'll be back!!!!!! Love this!!!!

Mika Yoga wear is incredible. Also pricey, but worth it!

It does take some practice to learn to control the spin. One thing that is super important is that you do not use any "swing" like you do in static spins for momentum. It is more of a lift and then a pose, if you will. I started with easy "poses" like fireman and attitude and back hook. A couple of things to try:
Instead of a climb, maybe you can just start with a fireman. Make sure you don't use any swing for momentum. You will be in a sort of "squat" position, so your bum will keep you from spinning too fast. Now move into a standing position. You will start to spin quickly, so squat back down into fireman to slow down. So basically you're doing a squat into a stand and back to a squat. You might get a better feel for it that way.
Try a chair. Again, don't use any swing. Just place your hands into position and lift off. Because you are already away from the pole, you won't spin too fast.
It does take time to get used to the spinning. Videotape yourself, and you will find that it doesn't look as if your spinning as fast as it felt like! Hope this helps!

Loved this! Very well put together and as Luvlee said, everyone kept very close with their timing. Very creative and there were so many impressive moves!! Brava!

Glad it wasn't anything serious! Take care of yourself!
