One of my favs is a chair to a back hook because you have to kind of twist your body around before the back hook. It's really pretty.
Front chair to reverse chair or reverse attitude.
I also like the opposite of Attitude to chair.
You can do a lot from the Hold Spin. I like to start in that position, then V my legs and then cross into a Fireman then climb.
Cradle to Thigh Hold/Jamilla is a nice, pretty strength move.
For a nice transition to floor, I like to hold an attitude and land in the splits.

Well, hello Sailor!! Best of luck to you in your new journey…

I know what you mean Runemist. I look at my videos where I do the cradle and my hands are definitely doing that "here it comes" thing! Especially since I walk with my right hand up, but my cradle is the right hand down. This requires me to change directions first. I think it is difficult to guide someone so specifically when it comes to getting better flow. I think it just comes with practice, really. Sometimes I concentrate on another aspect of my body/dance instead of on the move itself. For instance, I may extend my outside leg while my arm is moving into position. I try to make this a graceful dance move so the focus is on that instead of an obvious "prep" position. There are also tiny things that can go a long way in making the move look more polished. Chem gave you a great example of this with the outside leg sweep. Also as Chem mentioned, it is good to be able to do moves on both sides (I'm working on that!). It can really help with flow. Check out Veena's beginner and intermediate routines. You'll see that her arms and legs are in constant motion and sometimes all she needs to do is walk into the move gracefully. (Side note, she does fan legs around the one minute point in the Intermediate routine) I was just at the Midwest Pole Convention last night and watched some awesome pro's routines. They also have pauses, and running starts. What makes it flow is strength and constant arm and leg movement. Not sure if this helps, but thought I'd give it a shot.

Hi YoungS7 and welcome to the world of pole and this wonderful web site. I wholeheartedly agree with everything that Chem said. I do have some other suggestions. Stick with transitions, floor moves, and just pure dancing for now. Also, work on strengthening and conditioning. I have several fears with poling (mainly due to age) and have found that when I feel stronger and more distracted, I have less anxiety. One day you'll just be groovin' to the music and and you'll just want to grab onto the pole and try the step around move that Chem mentioned without even thinking of the fear factor! I also want to point out that spins are not really a basic move when you are just starting to pole and a climb is definitely something that you have to work up to. Do you have Veena's lessons? Everything is structured and sequential so that you do not move too fast. Take your time! Poling comes naturally to some, but most have to take baby steps. You will be surprised at what your body can do if you just let it move at it's own pace. Good luck!!

Do you have to have a You Tube Account to do this? I hesitate to add these types of videos out there. I am comfortable with this site, as I feel it is more protected. On Facebook, I can choose who I share it with. Also, I am not technically saavy, but I believe you need to "allow" the application of You Tube on Facebook for this to work. My security settings does not allow applications or platforms. I really do think it is some kind of encryption problem since I was able to do it before, but what do I know? It's very frustrating. I still haven't received a confirmation of my issue from FB. I shall refrain from cursing…. O:)

I'm the same way. I think it's pretty common. Personally, if I work out when I'm a bit sore, I find that it actually works the acid out of my muscles and I feel better. Having said that, make sure you warm up really well, and then just listen to what your body tells you. Good for you for getting in such an awesome workout!

Now that's just confusing. (Said sarcastically)

Just being OCD, but a Gemini is an outside leg hang. An inside leg hang is a Scorpio. I like Chem's idea since it sounds like you're not ready to pull yourself back up from there. Move your legs into a V (Chopper) and slide down with control. Then do some sexy floor moves!

About a month back, I loaded a video to Facebook. It gave me a message with the opportunity to state that the video was owned by me and accepted terms and conditions. Then it was fine. However, I was "Timelined" a couple of weeks ago. I tried to load a video today and it told me that it was removed by Facebook. I sent a message to their "help desk". This was a few hours ago and I haven't heard anything. I'll let you know if I do.

Hi Muroo. I don't have a problem getting my thighs together, but if you are I have one suggestion. Try tilting your hips toward one side. This way you might be able to get more grip on the inside of the thigh.

Hey Rixi. I think Trader Joe's and Fruitful Yeid both carry coconut water. I live in the Midwest also!

Okay, so my husband calls me a Princess drinker. I really don't drink much anymore. I get horrible migraines if I do. But if I do drink, it has to be expensive wine or expensive Champagne, thus the Princess Drinker. I do enjoy my 7&7's though! Last hangover I wound up taking codeine and going to bed. Righteous!
