MemberAugust 20, 2012 at 11:24 am in reply to: Tooth extraction 🙁 how long until I can pole again? Thanks for this Jag. I have always been obsessed with dental/oral health. It is linked to so many other diseases that can occur, not just in our mouths. I religiously get my teeeth cleaned/examined every 6 months. I would do it more often, but I only have medical and not dental insurance. My husband just had 2 molars removed and he is in the process of waiting for bone growth before he gets implants. Based on how he did, I would wait more than a week to invert. At least 2 and maybe even 3 weeks. I just wouldn't take a chance at compromising neccessary blood flow.

I purchased the ones with tack not too long ago because it has been so hot and humid this summer. I have a chrome X-Pole. For me, I think they work well on spin mode and for trying out some new tricks. They are very tacky as promised, so just be careful because static spins could be too sticky. Some tricks are tough too, as your hands might be behind a leg or something and get stuck. They worked for what I bought them for, and it sounds like they'll be good for what you are trying to accomplish. Have fun!

I think you will find that a very high percentage of members here were (and still are) in the same boat as you. Some are older (like me) and hadn't had a proper workout in years. Some are uncomfortable with their weight, some have little or no flexibility, some have chronic pain/medical limitations, some love to stuff their faces with pizza on a daily basis. The fabulous thing about pole is that you can do whatever you feel comfortable with and still get some major benefits. Take your time, listen to your body, and follow the lessons here. Everone progresses differently. Be patient and just have fun! I will let someone else answer the question about the fee, but I do know that you can sign up no matter what country you live in.

Pink, sometimes it feels like I can't go a day without feeling something hurting. I have degeneration in 3 separate areas of my back and neck, tendonitis, an on-going flexor/extensor injury, and IT band/hip issues. I also have the "brace this" issue! A couple of things:
1) I take Glucosamine for joint health
2) I warm up for at least 30 minutes before I do any serious pole moves
3) I stretch for a minimum of 20 minutes after each session
4) I follow Veenas stretching and conditioning
5) I never pole more than 3 days a week
6) I listen to my body. "If it starts to ache, give it a break!"
7) Ice and heat are your friends
I agree wih Hazi on the Pilates/Yoga. It is great for flexibility and strength. There is also a blog here from KEEZ where she goes into some detail about bruises, burns, rips, and soreness that is really great. xoxo

So many great replies, so I'll try to keep it short. I have Social Anxiety, suffer from panic attacks, and have days that I literally do nothing but sit on the couch, eat, and use the bathroom. I've been on several different meds over the years, but am now off of all long term synthetic based medications. I take a compunded, natural medication that works for me, although I will say that I carry Xanax with me at all times because panic attacks are no fun! I tend to shut myself off from people, but I have found that pole has been something I can do with others and not even think about it being "social". I've never felt this with other exercise classes. There just something about pole that makes me feel "zen-like". The music, the strength you gain, the way it makes you feel sexy, the journey you take with others in this community and/or studio class….It's all good!

I'm like Lyme. I just started my pole journey about 9 months ago at 47. I will be 48 next month. I have had lots of physical limitations, but I do not let those stop me. I can still do plenty, and it's the most fun I've ever had while exercising. It is a great outlet to just let your mind and body feel whatever it wants to and you get the added bonus of sculpting your body, losing weight, and gaining renewed confidence that may have waned over the years. Go for it!

Here is another site that sells them and has more frquest sales…

Not at all! They are a very thin/comfortable material but still have a "normal" width at the crotch. The thong part is not a string. It is about 2" wide. Hungry Vajayjay!!! Here is a Nordstrom website with Hanky Panky's. I believe the low rise are on sale right now.
-
Veena, I really do swear by Hanky Panky low-rise thongs! Sensual, Victoria's Secret has some booty shorts that I can pole in. Some have cute sayings on them. I still wear a thong underneath, though.
-
I have been wearing thong underwear for over 25 years. In my opinion, Hanky Panky are the most comfortable out there. I probably have about 30+ pairs. I pretty much cannot wear regular panties anymore, and other thongs now seem to bother me. They are a bit pricy, but well worth it if you're going to try them. Get the low rise. They are the best for fitting under the tiny pole shorts.

Sarah77, I believe an Apprentice is the same as a Thigh Rest/Open Leg Jamilla, but the ankle of the top leg is "hooked" on the pole.

I like everything that everyone suggested. I also love to ride my bicycle. The best wokout on it is when it's a windy day. Whew! Plus, I get the added bonus of cardio. I try to engage my abs while riding as well.

I will never do this, but looking forward to a video of you nailing it!

I don't understand how people think they are entitled to other people's stuff. I am so sorry this happened to you and I hope they find the bastards who did it!
