Did my husband put mine up wrong or is the thread suppose to be exposed when the ceiling is 9 feet?
I told him the cover should be over the thread but he said to get it up to 9′ it wont cover it.
I still like having the height and pole fully extended at the top so it doesnt get in the way for the high tricks. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
thank you for the tips ! hopefully it will come in time before vegas so i have time to experiment with it. how long do you think i have before it dries? i find with mighty grip its like a 6-10 mins super grip time https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

On another note, be aware that having dry skin can work against you. I lotion my entire body religiously every day (yes you read that right). I shower at night so most of it is rubbed off by the time I get on the pole the next day and it never causes problems for me but keeps my skin from feeling like paper (which slides!). Also, being sweaty is part of grip, if you are too dry you won’t be able to grip either!

I have this problem!! my legs are SUPER dry. sometimes i forget to put lotion on the night before or i feel like it just doesnt help and with a cold pole it is a PAIN. I’ve bought mighty grip extra tacky for my thighs cause i feel like that is the main problem. but if its gets on my hands it makes a wetness after 10 mins of practice. so i just didnt feel like it was good. I saw some people were useing this:
cramers firm grip
here is what i bought:

just spend $35 on two spray bottles so i hope it works good! anyone else use this….? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
it was kinda confusing with the directions, a photo instruction would be so helpful. my husband put mine together. but once you watch it go up once you can do it yourself again, its not to confusing after you see it.

MemberFebruary 14, 2010 at 11:14 pm in reply to: Things to know BEFORE you buy a pole!!!ok i just got my xpole and I wanted to rave about how great it is! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I’ve owned a multi piece platinum stages stainless steel pole, a brass once piece pole and now the new xpole Xpert.
The Xpert is the most stable out of all of them. I feel totally secure while dancing on it, and i always feel nervous about getting on a newly put up pole while in a bridge move or something like that at the very top, but not on the xpert. it was really great. with the joint in the middle it was so much more stable and i feel like the dome really helped too. I had 180+ lbs men jumping on it all last night and it held up without any sort of noise or tention release coming from it.
I even feel unstable in my once piece pole compared to that one, but maybe its cause i’ve had the brass one piece pulled from the ceiling before. I really like getting use to the new finish on the xpole too, its different, what veena said, slippery but grippy too. it made me feel alot more fluid on it and like i didnt have to work against the metal. i was working with the chrome.
so i just figured i would put my 2 cents in, because i know alot of girls looking for new poles and wondering how the xpert was. save up and buy one! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif -

I can SOOOOO help on this one, i want to share my story but dont be scared, everyone is different.
I’ve had mine before I started pole, 3 years ago. You will probaly be off the pole for more than a month.
I had mine done after my daughter was born and i lost all the weight but i went from a natural size C to a DD nursing and then i lost a LOT of weight and muscle mass and had nothing in my breasts, they were even damaged muscles from nursing. so I had a D size implant to fill up the space so i didnt have to get a lift or pay for one (they are expensive) my husband was just in the military and my daughter was still little.
So…story two, i started dancing, depending at what level you are at and how much you dance you should be really careful. if you notice there are not many competitive polers with breast implants.
I am left handed, and after so much pole in 3 years the pocket ripped all the way up to my sholder almost and the implant would slide out to the side when i was sleeping AND it was uneven and ugly lol.
So a year ago (when i was taking a break from pole) i got it fixed and now its back to normal, the doctor suggested i dont pole as much, but i would fix it again just to pole and hopefully get to uspdf at the end of the year https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I would say though, that since i have been lifting weights it has helped my breasts alot, there is stronger muscles and they look alot more…eh…durable..? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
just becareful what you do after, if you have any questions feel free to ask me, i’ve always felt alone on the fake boobs pole dancer department. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif -

MemberFebruary 7, 2010 at 10:21 pm in reply to: what do you say when people call it a "stripper pole"?i’m always emphasizing the fact that its a dance pole to my friends. a few times after i’ve had a couple drinks a guy came over and called it a stripper pole and i told him to go downstairs and leave. he complained to my husband and was like "what is that thing upstairs" and my husband was like "a dance pole" he knew better lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
people are always asking me "well what do you like calling it?"
and i say, dance pole, sports pole, performance pole lol anything of that nature.
once, which this REALLY pissed me off. we went to a friends house who had a pole there, and a few people wanted me to get on, and this guy (who i didnt know) came over and his friend jumped on the pole and he told his friend "get off your not a whore" needless to say I left. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif
