Oh I'd so like to have a pole pal too…keeping myself motivated lately has been so difficult.
Will see if I can set up skype on my laptop tonight when i get home.

My pole is on static more than spinny, and I have never had an issue with the adjuster cover coming undone in the almost 2 years I've had it. Now, I've just replaced my TG 45 with the new Brass 45, and I installed it myself as opposed to my son installing it for me, so we'll see if it makes a difference, but I would think you just haven't tightened the adjuster cover enough.

Finally some talk on more competitions/showcases in Canada! I was just talking to several people at my studio as well as poling friends about the fact that there seem to be no other competitions or showcases except MPDC. I have nothing against that competition, other than the fact that it is the ONLY one, and many people I know would be just too intimidated to participate in it as a first event.
Piglet, if I can help at all with anything, I am willing…although I don't have any knowledge of how to go about arranging anything! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I suffered with CTS in both my wrists for over 10 years and it got so bad, I had surgery done (6 months apart) on both my wrists 2 years ago. After my first wrist was done, I started poling, and it not only helped to heal that wrist but eased the discomfort somewhat in my other wrist. 6 months later, I took a 3 month break and had surgery on my dominant hand. It took longer to heal and I was off the pole longer than I wanted to be, but once back on, I felt like nothing could stop me.
I have some issue with anything that requires wrist-bending. Things like pushups, and handstands are more difficult, simply because I don't have the range of motion I used to and putting my full weight on my 90 degree bent wrists is just too much pressure on them.
I definitely recommend Veena's conditioning exercises, as well as proper wrist and forearm stretches. Take it easy and build slowly. Be more aware of the split grips and proper positioning in them, and everything should be fine.

I have 2 favourites, PoleSkivvies and Sweet Vixen Couture. I think they both offer a well-made, well-fitting line of pole wear with great customer service. These days, I order mostly from Lorraine at SVC because she offers a wider range of clothing for the pole, and her customer service has always gone above and beyond, especially when it comes to modifying things to fit me. I have bigger thighs from biking and lots of loose skin from having babies and losing lots of weight. Regular shorts tend to either roll up my legs or roll down my tummy.

I think it's funny, but 2 of my friends have been pushing me to get to it. I think they are all on crack of course. I'm definitely not competition material.
Wish I could go though, just to watch the performances!

For those who missed it but would like to see, it was posted on youtube, and can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTKLrDPexJY&feature=share

Bad Kitty posted this link on Facebook earlier. One of the polers in the vid is Mina Mortezaie. I saw her compete at the USPDF and she was amazing. I know someone posted the names of 2 others but I don't remember who posted them and I don't remember the names.

That happened to my friend just the other day….kind of scary. I've had a couple of scary moments on the pole, but never had mine come loose and fall.
Shame too, cuz I just had someone price an 8ft. 38mm polished brass tube for me, thinking I could make my own brass skinny in the basement. Perhaps I will rethink this idea now.
Glad to know you are ok!

I never found myself anything as far as poling goes while I was in San Antonio. I did find a studio there online and emailed about drop-ins but never got any response back.
