What about if you have trouble keeping your legs up? I've always had trouble with that and can't do the move for more than a second because I can't keep my legs up and out. Is that my core needing more work???

I took the mirrors from my bathroom and put them in my pole room instead, then bought decorative mirrors for the bathrooms. I've heard Ikea has decent priced mirrors 🙂 Try places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls, you can get huge mirrors there at a good price 🙂

As awful as it is, I'm glad that we're all posting our pole/work woes because it brings us all together in a way where we can be like, "Yeah, that happened to me too, this is what I did to rectify it…it'll be ok". Or whatnot. Being able to give each other that support when it's really needed you know?

I'm so so sorry Raquelle, but everyone is right, that IS a hostile work environment and HR should be aware of it. I'm so sorry, I can't imagine how awful that must be!!!

Well, they said I could come back at any time, but I think my fear lies in that I told my boss I Don't make money from it. I suppose I'm just scared because what if someone comes in who knows someone I work with, or knows my boss or something you know? I think that's what I'm most afraid of.

Ahhhh!!! God you guys are so amazing. Thank you so so much for your support, I can't tell you how much it means to me. I've been seriously isolating myself from pretty much everyone at work (we do a lot of out of office things so me being gone all day isn't out of the ordinary). I'm close with two older people in the office but even them we keep it professional. I guess I just got caught up in the idea these people were my friends, we all used to go out, everyone is really friendly and stuff…..ultimately it was my own fault for opening my mouth. But now I know, and will take measures to protect my personal life. I unfriended everyone, I'm just so angry I quit my studio job, I really enjoyed that!!!!! UGH! 🙂

Thank you guys, I can't tell you how much it means to me. xoxoxxoxoxxoxo

Thank you so much for the support and amazing advice. Webby, I think I will follow up with what you recommended. I hate that I quit so quickly without thinking it through. I think ultimately I learned a good lesson, trust no one at work. These people aren't my friends, they're coworkers don't need to know anything about me. I loved the idea Yolanda about having two separate facebook accounts. I actually went on facebook and looked up every coworker I could think of, then blocked them all so I can't be found. Is that over reacting? I don't know. Thank you guys so much for the support!!!!!!

Hmmm, you guys make some good points; the groupon was for 10 classes, maybe by then I'll be able to make a better judgment on it. What's the difference between Bikram and other yogas besides the heat? Are there different poses? Like do other yogas stretch different parts of the body aside from the Bikram poses??? I feel like this is a whole new world and I want in! 🙂

Corby, that's actually a great point that I didn't think of. Trying other types of yoga so you don't just see improvement in the class only but also at home. Does Bikram help with flexibility at all then or just in the studio in that moment? I'm such a dummie when it comes to this kind of stuff; that probably sounds like a stupid question. That floor sounds DISGUSTING!!!! The floor in the studio I went to was wooden, I think. I'm not sure actually. Must notice this when I go back.

Elektra, I'm so sorry you had that experience! Are you going to go back or are you going to try other types of yoga? 🙁

Kitten- Vinyasa, I think once my groupon expires I'll look in to that too, I want to get into this and eventually be able to go several times a week.

My Mom bought the Groupon too, she's really excited but I'm worried for her, I don't know if she'll be able to handle the heat and I don't want her to have an actual stroke in there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif Have you guys ever had someone try it who you were nervous for???

LOL Good God I hope my sweat doesn't stink like that! Although I hardly drink alcohol anymore…I bet I smelled like peanut butter and jelly since it's all I live on!

Elektra did you go!?!? I almost didn't go tonight but then I remembered your post and forced myself to go. AND I'M SO GLAD I DID!!!!!!!!

OMG. I think my life is changed and I'm addicted to this after just one class. All of my worries and stresses completely disappeared for those 90 minutes. It was the best and most challenging experience I've ever had exercise wise.

The first minute I had to really focus because the teachers voice sounded like the Truckee River Killer from Reno 911, you remember, Trudy's weird boyfriend?? But after a minute my geek-out went away.

The first 20 minutes I thought I was going to pass out; then I was convinced I was having a massive stroke. I literally thought, "Yep, this is it. I'm gonna go all strokey in front of these people and I won't be able to use the rest of this groupon". But the McStroke subsided.

I had to stop 3 times just for a water break but OMG I never knew I could sweat so much. Literally POURING off of every bit of me. I felt like a farm animal, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif . I think even my finger nails were sweating. When it was over I was really sad and driving home I felt this inner peace, this sense of calm that I've never felt before. It was incredible.

I can't wait to go back!!!!!
