Hooray on getting the plank!!!!! Yay for sticking to our goals!!!! 😀 DLuxx, don't get down on yourself and try not to compare your progress with others (that's a sure fire way to a bad mood). Lately I'm trying to celebrate the moves I DO know rather than focus on those that I'm struggling with because I'll get all depressed. I know for me, I'll get a weird move on the first try, yet there are some beginner moves that I'm still struggling with. I can't explain why my body takes to some moves easier than others, but it happens to us all. I hope that someone is able to help you get that move, sometimes all it takes is someone to point a tiny detail out to us and like magic everything falls into place 🙂

She gives a lot of great advice and keeps things light. The pictures are hysterical!! I liked "The S Factor" book by Sheila Kelly too, I'd highly recommend that one.

I love this thread!!! Monary, I love how your goal is to do a dance for your husband 🙂 Remember, all men are stupid idiots, you cannot mess it up 🙂 He should be grateful you'd even consider giving him such an amazing gift! 🙂

Straight Edge
Allegra
Split Grip Inverted V
The splits!! Right/Left/Middle

I don't have kids but I have a lot of lots of nieces, nephews and cousins who like to play on it. I think it's all how you present it. If you present it as a bad thing, something to be embarassed about and ashamed of, that's how they'll perceive it. If you present it as a positive thing, they'll look at it that way. 🙂

How long have they been poling though? We could be comparing apples to oranges, you know? It's so hard not to compare ourselves with others but that's time wasted which could be spent celebrating what you CAN do and what you HAVE progressed on. Veena's right though, one time per week isn't enough to gain the strength you need. Definitely check out the lessons on this site, Veena's the best and her lessons do a great job breaking things down so you know exactly what you're working. And I bet you the girls you envy are feeling insecure about their abilities too 🙂 xoxoxo

These are great tips!!! I've heard the "clean the house in heels" thing too, although I'd hate to spend any longer than necessary cleaning and heels would slow me down lol. I'm really impressed with anyone who can dance in heels, that's not something I'm aspiring to be good because I know my clumsy ass would fall down in them no matter how much I practiced!! 🙂 I'm so impressed with anyone who's trying though!!! xoxo

That made me cry. What a beautiful, uplifting, inspirational, endearing lesson those short 4 minutes were 🙂

Thank you so much Jehanne, what a wealth of amazing information that post was. It didn't sound "woo-woo" at all, last night I read this and went upstairs immediately and started stretching and I really let me body tell me what to do. I held stretches longer than I've ever don't them and actually got the farthest I've EVER gotten. It was so cool reading about receptor cells disengaging, that made a lot of sense and you've given me hope!!!!! That now you're training over splits!!!!! 🙂

Oh! Well that's my problem right there, I'm definitely not holding the stretch long enough. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

It depends on what it is. Broccoli and chicken? I'll eat until I'm full. Chocolatey cake dripping in whipped cream? I'll have another slice please. I find it all balances out in the end, and if I'm suddenly not feeling healthy "on the inside", then it's back to the fruits and veggies.
