    Everytime I come in this thread I learn something new. How long should each stretch be held for? Sometimes I can hold it longer than others and at other times I feel like I'm dying lol.

    What great tips!!!! It's silly, but I pretend I'm on stage and people are watching me, that forces me to stop being such a perfectionist and not stop every two minutes because I think I've messed up.  I learned a lot in this thread, thank you guys!!!

    Hmm, that gives me hope. Thank you Sensual. I think I'll do the same thing, focus on the open hips, then work on the squared hip version 🙂

    What a cool thread! I try to keep it simple- eat well, eat when you're hungry, don't deprive myself otherwise I turn into a junk food beast, everything in moderation, and get up and move.

    1) To be able to hangout with Veena and Glitter again

    2) To get the splits!

    3) To get the Cartwheel mount 

    4) To get the floor body wave and shoulder roll

    5) To have the  confidence to dance the way I do when I'm alone when I'm in front of people

    Ahhh!! You must have been so distracted worrying but what a professional to keep going with the dance!!!! I bet you did amazing even so 🙂 When I was in the burlesque troupe I had to strip out of my bra while holding a huge feather fan in front of me and then dangle the bra over my head. What I didn't expect was that there would be audience members not only in FRONT of the stage but on the sides too. Let's just say anybody sitting on the side of the stage got a free show. After that it was pasties pasties pasties!!!! 🙂

    If I'm dancing for a guy I don't worry about much because let's face it- they're simple creatures and 99% of the time don't even notice when I mess up, I tend to do a lot of floor, wall, lapdance type stuff. The pole is for me :). They should be happy I'm dancing for them in the first place! My ex wanted me to do a dance for him once so I started and he had the AUDACITY to look away at the tv. The dance stopped right then and there and I walked out of the room refusing to speak to him for a good 15 minutes LOL. It's a privilege and a gift to dance for your guy, I think anyways! I always warn them, "no touching!" and if they can't keep their grubby hands off then I take their belt and tie their hands up….which is a sexy kind of torture that they love. I'll only do a dance if he's earned it or if it's a special occassion like a birthday or something like that…..and I EXPECT to see the tent rising if you get my drift!!!! 🙂 Wow, I sound like a little bitch don't I??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Thank you guys for these suggestions!!!! I guess my final question is, do you HAVE to square your hips when you're stretching for the splits? I get down so much farther when I don't square them…..

    Thank you!!!! I never thought of using knee pads, that's a really good idea actually. Thank you so much for your advice 🙂

    I have a question too! When you're doing the side splits, do you HAVE to square your hips? It puts so much pressure on my knees and they hurt! Or would I be cheating myself out of doing the stretches correctly if I didn't square them?
