Pole i never thought to use boots before, that’s a great idea to stick to the pole better. i generally don’t dance in heels or boots because i dont feel like i have control of myself- i barely can walk in them let alone dance!! but i think that i might try that; thank you for the good tip!!!
what is the Jade split that you guys are talking about?? is it a middle split??

its ok Pole, im the same way, i’ll stare at cam corders online but wont be able to afford one for awhile, so no vids for me yet.
so im thinkin’ the weekly challenge is a great idea that we all love- maybe we could all talk about what the first challenge should be in chat this friday??? i’ll be there about 6pm ny time.

isnt that a cool feeling being able to touch the floor with your palms flat? i was never able to do that until my friend and i pretended we’d become yoga masters; that lasted for about a minute; but i was able to do that once, it was so cool https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif i think youre right poles, we’ll all motivate each other, yay!

it’s so true though isn’t it?? it’s amazing how much more flexible you can get when you stretch everyday- when i first started stretching i couldn’t touch my toes, i was barely able to reach my ankles, but now im reaching OVER my toes and nearly grabbing the bottoms of my feet! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

i love exotic dancing too, i think it’s so amazing all of the things you can do with your body and all of the emotions you can evoke both from yourself and from whomever you’re dancing for.
i think posting vids on veena’s site is pretty safe, but i guess you’d have to go through yuotube to get the video’s online…im really a newbie when it comes to all of the video stuff, i barely figured out how to get my webcam working for friday chat nights! but i understand why you’d be nervous poles. poles, i usually pop into the chatroom here and there when im on the site but mostly i think people stop in on fridays for the chat (although i missed last weeks chat which im sad about lol).
the ideas you posted are GREAT!!!! i have some more too, but i love love love the ones you posted, this is so exciting, im not sure i’ll be able to post my videos since i dont even know how ot make them yet, but im absolutely ging to participate in the pole junkies weekly challenge https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

partner stretching definitely helps you gain more flexibility, when im at home, i ask my mom or my brother to push on my back with their feet while one of them is lying on the couch to help me stretch lol.
angel, im the exact same way everytime i start to dance, im like a little kid, "i dont wanna!!!!!!!!!!!" but ultimately i think we’d be shorting ourselves if we didnt stretch.
yoga dvds are awesome!! definitely helps keep your interest so you dont get bored. i think it’s so beneficial too because it forces you to work on your breathing you know? i bet a lot of us forget to breathe when we’re dancing, i know ive ended up making that "constipated" face when im working on a move because i’ve forgotten to breathe!

i mentioned this to veena awhile back, it would be really cool to see some wall dancing video’s, or chair dancing things- maybe even a props video so people can see all the cool things they could do with a hat or a bottle of lotion, how to take off gloves for example, stuff like that…but that could be getting a little dirty and maybe people wouldn’t like that.
it would be awesome too to see all of the video’s categorized; like a section just for spins, inverts, transitions, strength training, stretches….stuff like that. but i think that has to do with software being re-written so that might be hard.
i love love love the weekly chat thing we’ve been doing too; i wish more people would participate in it! it’s been so fun getting to know different people on the site too. this website is becoming a little community, it’s so awesome! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

this is all really good advice guys. i agree with you guys- the pain is horrendous, and the bruises you can get from the pole are christmas card worthy they can be so bad sometimes! but eventually the pain DOES go away. i used to get off the pole all bent over in pain and now i can hangout on the pole up there all day and it doesnt’ bother me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif but i agree with georgia- take your time, don’t push yourself too hard- be patient, you’ll get it eventually https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_santa.gif

definitely check out veena’s video’s on warming up and cooling down- she also has a ton of great strength building exercise video’s that you can do with your pole that helps a lot. be sure to stretch too!
