This is my routine after 8 weeks of lessons in the studio.. omg… i am cringing over here. If you go to my profile you can see I just finished a year of pole and the improvements I have made are huge. It's slow in the beginning but you get better faster as you progress..
ahhh ok here it is, why am I unburrying this…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4l7DyVkG4msobviously, the focus was way more on "sexy" than on tricks. I remember Level 1 was a lot of learning to walk on toes, hair flip, and simple spins like the fireman. It seems so simple but its HUGE in laying the foundation for looking good later.

When I first started poling, everyone said "build your strength, build your strength" so I went with the Veena strength exercises. That may be the fastest way to build strength, but I'll tell you… I was BORED within 5 minutes! So I said screw that, I'm just gunna throw on some music I love, mess around on the pole, see what I can do and see what I can't, and build my strength the slow way. And not once have I done pole lift repetitions since.
If it feels wrong, you're doing it wrong (for you). There is no right or wrong way to learn pole (only safe and unsafe). Dance around. Don't be afraid to mess up and get ugly. If it's not fun, stop and try again the next day.

I just came out of the pole closet today on facebook to everyone and the response was nothing but positive https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif gives me the warm fuzzies. I really stressed the importance poling has on making me a healthy person in body and mind, I think that helped.

You say that so well! I have the same body issues now too! 😛

I've never met a mean pole girl. The ladies in my class varied in all shapes and ages and experiences and they are the most supportive bunch! You have nothing to worry about 🙂

I've never experienced this negativity in studio, fortunately! However, when I watched the playback for my Ooh La La performance, I noticed some girl on the side laughing at me to her friend. It shouldn't bug me, especially because that performance was such a great experience for me, but it does.
I think our pole community spoils us into forgetting how unsupportive other women can be of each other.

That show is the best and your cupcakes look DIVINE! I like the spin and twirl touch at the end, toohttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif Best of luck!

hahahaha ah! omg! The longer I look at that picture the worse it gets. but i think it would be ok if that was the end result of doing one of those heel kicks to the floor that alethea does..
