I’m interested too to find out what you mean by “swinging”. The pole needs to warm-up w/ you so that you’ll stick, but maybe that’s not what you meant…?

@ Organic Angel, when I was pregnant my doctor said it was okay to do my normal exercise routine pretty much up until my third trimester. She said so long as I wasn’t winded or exhausted or trying anything unfamiliar on the pole (or workouts, in general) I should be fine. Still, I was exhausted ALL the time, my balance was all screwy, and idk if it was my hormones or what but I constantly felt very NOT myself. To be honest, it took until my daughter was about three months old before I started feeling “normal” again. It was the strangest thing I’ve ever encountered. Not necessarily all bad, but it’s unsettling to start feeling and thinking like an entirely different person. To be a total stranger to yourself. It was as though somebody cranked up the volume on the stereo in my mind to the point where I couldn’t hear my own voice and the bass was so heavy it physically shook me outta my shoes or something. Very odd, entertaining at times, but put me very off-center. Pole wasn’t the furthest thing from my mind, but I kinda lost trust in my abilities due to the very alienated feeling that took over me.

Anyway, that’s awesome you can run like that! Pregnancy is different for everyone, or so I’m told. Nausea was much of an issue for me either except a little in the beginning.

I would think that the shorter version would be preferred in pole, both appearance-wise and to safely execute moves. Idk. lol ๐Ÿ™‚

^—-Quick question: Does that qualify as a flexed-foot if it’s part of the move…or only when the leg is free-hanging? Or something along those lines? *nudgenudge* (get it? Along those LINES. HAHAHAHA Okay, that’s not really funny. Sorry.)

Totally would, but no way to upload videos right now. Annnnnnnd my daughter seldom allows me enough pole time to waste any on camera set-up anyway. lol

lol I have to be honest, I hate when people fake or force smiles while poling. It’s creepy…especially when I try it. :O Smile when you’re enjoying yourself enough to do so. As a newbie, it can be hard to smile even if you ARE enjoying yourself because you are concentrating on so much else. The natural smiles and sexy facial expressions come, be patient! Just wait until you nail some tough moves you’ve been working on. You won’t be able to stop smiling. lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

On the subject of a teacher/instructor’s job, I can agree w/ that. However, this thread wasn’t meant to be aimed at teachers/instructors unless they were being nasty about it.

That reminds me of another story. I’ve never actually physically gone to a studio and taken lessons (I cannot afford it, among other things), but a friend of mine used to. She was mainly going because her living situation prevented her from having an at-home pole, and only slightly to see what someone else could teach her. She dropped those classes after a few weeks when she realized there was NO FREESTYLE POLE TIME, and all the classes were strictly wrapped around what the instructors liked to see. It was pretty closed-circuit, from what I hear, and unfriendly to those of different tastes and backgrounds. Not very smart, in my opinion, but whatever. Their business is still booming, my friend got a place she could put her pole up, life goes on.

It’s sad, though, how some people can be so intolerant and one-sided. How accepting anyone’s money is okay, but respecting their individual goals or challenges is not if it doesn’t mirror your own.

That would also qualify (in my opinion) as one being a foot-vulture. Whether it’s about pointed toes or wearing heels, srsly, there’s a difference between being helpful and being a jerk. Not everyone learns at the same pace, not everyone has the same goals, and not everyone likes the same things. Trying to ridicule or coerce somebody like that is pretty low.

out an hour wait to mail a package. My carrier is over-worked and disgruntled. Usually my mail isn’t delivered until about 4pm…except on Fridays. For some reason my carrier is happy on Friday, jammin’ out listening to her iPod, and gets the mail done in record time before it’s even 11am.

I’ve heard the US postal service has started it’s own clothing line (srsly?) to try and strum up more funds. I’ve also heard they’re considering only delivering mail Mon-Fri and doing away w/ Saturday deliveries. Idk if any of this has anything to do w/ International postal gouging, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Our US postal services are going belly-up and they’re getting very reckless (and greedy) as a result.

As a US citizen, I would like to mention a few things I’ve noticed about our postal service. Since 9/11 it seems the price of everything keeps going up (possibly due to increased security measures), BUT the quality of service has gone way down. I have not had an out-going mailbox in the communities I’ve lived in since 2005, and instead I have had to bring it to the post office myself every time. It’s obvious they have cut as many postal workers as possible to save money because there’s usually only two or three working behind the counter and the line is so long it’s ab

    Okay, I’ve got one.

    Foot-vultures.

Anyone have a prob w/ the word “vulture”? …I kinda do. Those things follow me everywhere I go like they’re hoping I’ll drop dead of exhaustion one day.

Btw, THANK YOU to Veena and Webmaster. I did not mean any harm or for this to get off topic. lol

Yeah, well, I didn’t invent the stupid phrase but if it weren’t for poor taste I wouldn’t have any. I didn’t mean to offend anybody w/ this damn thread, I just wanted to maybe find other people who are sick of having their minor flaws mercilessly scrutinized over.

For the gloves to match the mood, music, and moves I did in the dream they would have to completely cover my hands and arms past the elbows. Otherwise it wouldn’t have the same effect. lol Hard to describe but, for lack of a better explanation, fingerless gloves would appear a bit too delicate or beautiful for what the routine would express. Everything about this dream was harsh, dangerous, and almost inhumanly sexy. Wow…I should consult a psychiatrist actually. LMAO
