I used to use Windex which works very well, but I have sensitive skin so I switched to rubbing alcohol. When that’s in short supply I’ve found Witch Hazel, Listerine, nail polish remover (diluted), vinegar (diluted), steam, and eyeglass wipes work well enough to get by. Still prefer rubbing alcohol to anything else, but at least there are some decent alternatives.

Four pairs of boots, four pairs of heels. Fav and most functional are my 6″ black and chrome Adore Pleasers.

I learned pretty much everything I know on a classic 50mm X-Stage. I did this because I did not want to deal with screwing up my ceiling and figured a portable pole would be a good investment.

Like Veena said, there are some cons. There are limitations on floor-work, the metal is hard on the knees, steps are very loud in heels, can be too cold or too hot depending on environment, very heavy, and you will likely have to cut your pole to fit your ceiling height. I highly recommend that if you do purchase a stage-pole you buy a second B-pole for this exact purpose. That way you can have the shorty for indoors and the full length for outdoor/performances.

All of my videos show the gradual progress and general pros/cons of having a stage-pole as your at-home practice option. Still love my X-Stage, but I would absolutely love to have a reg pole (or two ;)) as well. Also…they have the X-Stage Lite and other options nowadays so it may be somewhat easier than what I started w/. However, I will say everyone I meet tells me my classic pre-Xjoint X-Stage spins wayyyyyyyyy better than the new ones. Don’t know if that’s true or not from a personal standpoint, but that’s what others have told me.

    Hope this helps you!

Oh, I enjoyed their stay about two weeks ago. Now I’m really needing for them to be on their way so I can get my house back to normal. They’re in the process of moving to Arizona, but the transition hasn’t been going so smoothly.

A few honorable mentions you may or may not have already heard of are Nicki Shaw, Anna Diana Serikova, and Oksana Grishina. Their on-pole skills are certainly elite, but it’s the passion and flow of their floorwork that I’m most in awe of.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention her name is Liz. I don’t remember her last name, but she may still be at Aerial Dragonfly/Pole Addiction.

Thanks all. It comes and then it seems to go as soon as I eat whatever I’m craving. We’re right back to the meh-phase, unfortunately.

Stefana, I do often survive off of soup during these in-between times. Soups, salads, sandwiches. It helps. Even if it doesn’t hug my taste-buds it does make a happy belly. 🙂

Hi there! Idk where you are located, but this girl in the video is an instructor. Last I checked she was working at Aerial Dragonfly/Pole Addiction near Detroit, MI. If you contact her through email or something, though, maybe she can help you find someone closer or Skype or…idk. She’s awesome, I highly recommend. 🙂

    Update:

Tortellini Alfredo with tomatoes. All I wanted in my life today for some reason. Took about a month, but there’s my appetite. Annnd now I’m satisfied. Weird. Can’t even describe how heavenly it was to actually enjoy my meal for a change. So much for avoiding carbs and dairy. *shrugs*

Even if they do not refund your money, I highly advise contacting them directly to express your dissatisfaction. Don’t be afraid of them, you are the consumer and have every right to receive compensation if you were not provided the service you paid for. While they may refuse, still, make it known to them how you were treated and that you feel like you were ripped off.

I’m sure you aren’t the only one who had a bad experience and I would also make that known to them. Bad reviews can hurt business in the future so I hope that temporary cash-in at the expense of your patronage was worth it to them.

Once again, I’m sad you had this experience. Please understand that your pole skills are not what is being reflected, but rather lousy teaching and business management.

Reading this makes me want to slap those bitches. They do not deserve the title of “instructor” if the only students getting the moves are the ones who could already do it in the first place. A drill sergeant can yell all day and get bodies moving, but without TRAINING a soldier may hop a wall right into their own demise. This is an especially great disservice to you as a student paying no doubt a FUCK TON OF $ for this stupid pole camp.

I’d raise Hell. I can’t even imagine going through some shame fest and paying for all of it. What an awful experience. I hope you will receive some compensation, apology, or closure for having gone through this.

Appears as though some of the “instructors” are there strictly to cash in, are not passionate about teaching, and cling to already advanced students in order to portray their successes in class as proof that the instruction methods are a success as a whole. Ick, it turns my stomach but people do actually do this. I am very sad and sorry that you had such a bad experience, it is NOT RIGHT.

Thank you, Veena! I suppose that my frustration w/ this move doesn’t stem from the alleged “basic”-ness of it, but the amount of effort and time I poured into it. For it to come about so sudden and unexpectedly when I was barely trying is just like “Huh…?”. It’s been a perplexing journey to this one, that is certain.

Thank you for the advice, I remember a lesson of yours which covered this stand and it was the most helpful. Still, the overall awkwardness of balance and pressure is what held me back. I kept approaching it with an expectation of how it should feel…kinda like handstands which was not the case. Entirely different targeted areas that I can feel in my core as opposed to the handstands, idk the specific anatomic terms. It makes sense, but never fully knew what to do until I got it. Thanks again, I love progress no matter how long it takes. 😀
