What an awesome idea! I have a metallic sharpee that would look great on the black stage!

That would look really sweet! Though, I’m kinda worried about the autographs wearing away over time from cleaning agents and dancing on them all the time. I suppose ya’ll could autograph the leg-base but that wouldn’t be any fun! *SIGH* I don’t know what I should do to preserve them, I want these babies to last forever!!!

I’ve gotten word that Karol’s best friend Star may be attending too! I hope so, I would soooo love to meet her! After all, she and Karol’s videos on YouTube were what got me into poling in the first place. Maybe if we’re really nice we can talk her and Karol into showing us some sweet double moves, ya think? AHHHHHHH!!! I’m so excited, I can’t wait! Actually…freeze everything…I need to work on my damn routine some more. Only eleven days left!

I have 6 1/2" Pleaser Adore chrome-style heels w/ ankle straps, I forget the exact model #. I LOVE these shoes, they are perfect in every way! For being big platform spike-heels they are amazingly comfortable and, although it took me a few days to get used to them while on the pole, they are surprisingly easy to maneuver and walk in. My only prob is that I’m already too tall for my little pole-room, so I have be extra careful inverting when I wear my Pleasers so that I don’t scrape the ceiling. lol

I also have a pair of chunky 4" heel knee-high boots by T.U.K that are not exactly made for dancing, but they are my favorite shoes to wear while on my pole. I don’t know why people say that matte boots don’t stick because mine do! Granted I am sure that shiny vinyl boots stick much better, but I really don’t like to stick too much…it makes noises and inhibits my momentum. Although my boots were purchased at Hot Topics and were intended only for fashion, I’ve found they are highly functional with climbs, holds, spins and inverts. The only problem is the metal eyelets create tiny superficial scratches on the chrome finish of my pole, so I only use them in moderation and will probably retire them from the pole entirely when I can afford a pair of Pleaser Electra’s.

I have a ton of fashion cheapies I’ve bought on clearance at a variety of stores and I don’t recommend them for poling, lol. Although I do have a pair of magenta colored vinyl wedges that only cost me $5 that are highly effective in learning new moves while wearing heels. They are my "training heels" and they are designed in such a way that I can climb for hours without getting bruises or blisters on my feet, but I don’t really like how they look on me. They also scuff like no tomorrow and make squeaking noises (vinyl against pole, Eeeesh, how I hate that sound!), but as for learning how to work it in heels without getting sore and battered there is no better choice.

As for where to purchase quality pole-shoes from, I buy from snaz75.com. They are fast, reliable, and have a wide selection from Pleaser, Demonia and also have a lot more cool stuff for poling other than just shoes! Beware, though, once you start buying this stuff it becomes very addicting. I am ALWAYS broke because I spend all of my money on pole-related activities and accessories. If you already do this too, well, more power to you fellow pole-junkie!

I own an X-Stage (predating the X-joint version). It’s the only pole I have and, to be honest, it has served me quite well. I have never had any problems taking it apart and setting it up (in fact, I found out that I can take it apart and set it up again in under thirty minutes!); my carrying cases are still like new even though I’ve had to move them quite a lot in the passed year; spin-mode is like heaven, it is so smooth and comfortable; above all, this set-up is amazingly stable! What someone else said is right, you do not have to extend the legs if you are worried about tripping over them but they are a nice option for added stability. There are also places to put weights under the platform if you are still concerned about stability, although I’ve never had to use them. The chrome finish has been a dream to pole on, I officially prefer it to any other finish I have had the opportunity to use (regular stainless, acrylic, and brass).

There are, however, a few things that I do not like about my X-Stage. For one, the carrying cases for the stage-plates are designed in a way that makes them difficult to lift and carry when the plates are in them but that’s just a minor gripe. I do not like how using a stage limits my ability to do floor-work and forces me to be more cautious when landing from an invert or practicing a new move. When I wear heels the metal platform makes very loud clunking echoes as I walk, but I just crank my music up louder. My pole has some sway at the top and it took me a while to trust that it would hold me. Some of my stage-plates are stubborn about locking in, but I’ve pretty much got them figured out now…like I said, I can put it up and take it down in under a half hour. Overall, the pole itself does not disappoint me in the least but, like I said, I have the old model without the X-joint so I don’t know if it’s better or worse now.

I am curious about the PS Star-Standalone, though. I know of a few local girls who own it but I haven’t gotten the chance to compare yet. I am loyal to my X-Stage, but I’m very interested to try out the Star and see if maybe I’d like to purchase one of those too. Seems there would be an advantage in the fact that the platform is so much lower; it would give me more pole to work with (since my ceilings are low and vaulted) and I probably wouldn’t have to be so cautious with floor-work or landing inverts. Still, I’d like to try before I buy since I didn’t have that opportunity w/ my X-Stage.

Good luck w/ choosing your new pole, I hope my review helped you at least a little. lol =D

Gotta be fair, though. Those male-enhancement commercials have gotta be a huge drain on the ego for men. I know that my boobs could always be bigger, but I’ve never been made to feel that they are not pleasurable as is. lol

The big reason we all have so much trouble accepting our bodies the way they are is you turn on the TV and you are hearing left and right about what is wrong with your body and creams, pills etc that will "fix" it. It is hard to be self accepting with stuff like that everywhere you look. well gee they sure know how to make a person aware of their flaws and instead of saying "hey its okay lots of people have flaws" its do this and that to fix yourselves. End of Rant https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

In response to that, check this out. lmao

I love my eyes because they are as green as lime.

I love my hair because it is soft and fine.

I love my arms because they are strong.

I love my legs because they are long.

    I love my big feet.

    Why?

Because they are lithe and shapely.

    I love my cellulite.

    Why?

Because I haven’t seen much of it lately.

    Hi minicoopergirl. =)

I’m also married, but I have no kids. My husband has been kinda on the fence w/ my poling since I first took an interest in it, but he’s never been like "this pole has become an evil-presence in our house and I don’t like it!" or anything like that. He seems to have a level of discomfort which I can kinda understand, but at the same time I don’t get it. Then I realize that he probably feels the same way:

"She’s having fun which I can kinda understand, but at the same time I don’t get it."

I don’t know, that’s just my interpretation of it.

I think it also helps to remember that pole-dancing is a taboo visual art-form that is highly sensual in essence. Married men are bound to raise an eyebrow at their wife when she takes an interest in learning how to perform aerial acrobatic moves on a phallic object…while scantly dressed, I might add. LOL That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t, but when I look at poling in this light I can kinda see it from a man’s perspective. I’d probably feel the same way if my husband became a rockstar. I mean, wouldn’t you be just a little concerned knowing there are millions of sleazy women who want nothing more and would do anything to steal your sexy man away? Not exactly the same thing, but I would bet that there is a similarity of perception in the opposite sex when it comes to poling.

    It’s a theory. lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Cannot resist posting a lengthy response to this topic so, please, bear with me.

I have cellulite; lots of it on my butt and thighs. It seems as though I got it the day I turned thirteen because that’s the first picture where I ever noticed it. I’ve always had a rather lean figure but cannot seem to get rid of my cellulite no matter what I do. When I was a teen I became anorexic as a result of my frustration w/ my body-image and I became dangerously underweight. Guess what? I STILL had cellulite.

Cellulite does not occur because you are fat (although excess flab does increase the appearance of it), it happens because it is genetic. You may never notice it’s even there until something hormonal (such as pregnancy or puberty) triggers an increase in the surfacing of it. Basically, if you have cellulite you’ve always had it and you always will…but that doesn’t mean you have to look like you do!

Since I’ve started poling I have noticed a dramatic reduction in the appearance of my spongy dimples. My skin is firmer and my muscles seem to be surfacing with just a little uneven layer of flesh between them. Prior to poling, I was on the South Beach Diet which helped to keep any excess weight off but I didn’t exercise. The combination of pole-dancing w/ my diet has done miracles for the reduction of my cellulite, more than anything else I’ve ever tried in the past. I swear by it, but I know that it may just work for me and not necessarily everyone.

I will say that I was never very active in my life, much less had an exercise routine, until now. I was always in it for the quick fix and I can confirm THAT STUFF DOES NOT WORK. It kinda sucks that I’ve turned into the type of person who would say this corny old line, but:

The key to living with cellulite is having confidence, eating well, and exercising regularly.

I’ve avoided doing just that until the past year and I really wish that I hadn’t because I could of had my body looking this good a decade ago. It’s not perfect, I still have cellulite, but I know I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been and I am feeling FOXY!

To all the ladies out there who have struggled with their body-image too, lemme’ tell ya, you are beautiful and all your need to do now is own it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
