I am in tears! I didn’t think that my post would bring so much… Support! You’re all such kind people and I knew that turning to a world full of “strangers” would make me feel like I’m not alone out there…
As for medication, I am on a mild anti-depressant prescribed by the doctor to help with feeling low and physically weak all the time. The only side affect I suffer from it is that it makes my mouth very dry! I’m constantly thirsty!
I’ve only been on them for a few days but he said it will take at least 3-4 weeks before they start to take any effect. So I’m due to see him then to see if they have made any slight difference.
As for all the rest…I’ll keep turning to everyone on here, because you’ve all given me some strength and hope that I can sail through this. I understand that there is no “cure” for depression, it’s something that we live with and have to deal with in whatever way we see best. I just need to find my way first…
I’ll keep you all posted, and thank you again for your kind and supportive words.
    Much love

Okay this is the issue I have with my adjuster cover, the three top black screws are undone but it still won’t turn…do those little silver screws need undoing? On the video she unscrewed the cover clockwise and it dropped to the floor…? Confused.com… 🙁

Yes, to the point where it literally wouldn’t go any further…but it’s strange. I watched the assembly video on YouTube and the girl managed to get her adjuster cover to drop to the bottom of the base, I unscrewed the 3 hex screws at the bottom of A pole and I literally could not unwind the adjuster cover, it wouldn’t budge!…Could this be why??

If the problem still occurs tomorrow I’ll post some pictures. I’m just baffled as to how my old x-pole fitted perfectly yet this one won’t. The only reason why I bought this one was because I needed a 45 and my old pole was a 50 🙁

I didn’t try that as I was alone when assembling it, I’ll have another go tomorrow with the help of mother dearest and see if we can get it up. If not, moaning to x-pole it is 🙁

With the base and the dome on top it won’t fit 🙁 it stands fine without the dome on top so it’s literally out by a couple of inches! I don’t know if I should contact x-pole about it because it can’t be the pole itself that’s faulty 🙁
    Argh 🙁

Don’t be so hard on yourself! 🙂 I’m a beginner too and I can’t even lift myself out of bed most of the time let alone on the pole 😛 I did a 5 week beginner course for an hour once a week and I thought, there’s no way 5 weeks is going to make a difference…but it did! Small changes, but you do feel it, and that’s the motivation, when you know that you’re progressing even if it’s little baby steps.

There is no rush, enjoy the pole, move with it. The more you focus on what you can’t do the more disheartened you will feel, thus taking out the enjoyment. Focus on what you have achieved so far, actually attending a pole class is an achievement in itself, some people wouldn’t set foot through a studio door! 🙂

This forum has been a big help for me in a sense that everyone is friendly and willing to help 🙂
Don’t worry, you will get there. Everyone starts at the very bottom before working up. Myself included 🙂
Enjoy the experience and go with it 🙂

What a shame! I was so close to buying an x-pole off e-bay because all poles on x-pole uk’s we page were out of stock. Fortunately before I checked out with my e-bay pole I checked one last time on x-pole and by stroke of luck the pole I wanted in the right size was in stock! Far more expensive than the e-bay pole but I’d rather spend money on a genuine good quality pole than put my life in danger with a fake one.

Tragic shame for that poor woman, I hope she stays strong and makes a full recovery. These sellers have no idea what damage they can cause! Keep your eyes peeled when shopping around, if in doubt buy direct 🙂
    Stay safe polers!

Right. That’s it. I am THROUGH with being like this! You are all so right! And the worse part is if this was my friend in my situation I’d be telling her the same thing!! Last night my current boyfriend broke up with me, and there he was in work today (yes, we worked together, rookie mistake!) all happy, smug, laughing. He wasn’t hurt at all! And it made me SO ANGRY! So you know what? F**k him, and f**k the rest of them! Here is my list to get back on track!:
    1. Complete all my college work and graduate in July.
    2. Start back at driving lessons and pass my driving test.
    3. Work my ASS off and make millions of pennies and buy a load of cats.
    4. Work out so hard with pole I end up looking like the hulk!
    5. Work out so hard with my Zumba and throw shapes like Shakira.
    6. Be goddamn awesome. Forever.
So there it is, small but will take time to complete but I am so damn determined and I know my fellow polers will help me along the way 🙂
Thank you so much for the advice!

A bitchy fridge?! Haha I love it! As for Mr. Skinny…I hope your husband doesn’t get too jealous of his chrome rival 😛 When mine arrives I’ll be abandoning my boyfriend…Except when I start doing the hard stuff, then I can show off that I’m stronger than him! (he’s a boxer) 😛

Thank you for the advice guys! Been looking around on X-Pole and E-Bay but they all seem to be out of stock of 45’s at the moment (everything really!) So will wait around until something becomes available 🙂 Having my second studio lesson tonight and cannot wait! 🙂
    Happy Poling, polers 🙂
