Thanks heaps englann! Great advice, I'll keep working on that butterfly for sure, it was only my second proper attempt at it! And I'm so upset it cut my extended leg half off in the photo LOL.  I want to really open it up so it's a really pretty extended butterfly, I'm just excited I was able to get the split grip feeling comfortable, it's harder doing a gemini I reckon! lol.

So far I can do CKR, shoulder mount, gemini, inverted crucifix, getting there with the extended butterfly, so much to learn! My next ones I want to learn is the scorpio (inside leg hang), bow and arrow and CAR 🙂

LMAO i was waiting for someone to notice hubby in the background! He was too busy to bother taking photos for me so I said screw you and set up the camera on timer on the tv haha! Where there's a will there's a way :p

Yes pointy toes is what I try to remember when taking photos, it's amazing how much better a move can look if the toes are pointy, I have an old shot of me in gemini with non pointy toes and it looks feral! haha

Yay thanks Webmaster for fixing my images!!!!! Fantastic 🙂 🙂 Thanks for your help!

Thanks kasanya! I noticed the grip too in my photo, I didn't notice at the time LOL, I usually invert, then drop outside hand down,  maybe I dropped it like that?? Bizarre! Either way it was comfortable LOL.  Omg why are my hands like that! haha

Yep I can CKR easily without hands, decided to grip underneath so I got a more arched body in this photo 🙂 I just noticed the Bow n Arrow move is done from a CKR, so gonna try that next! Along with the tricky CAR which seems impossible at the moment!

Thanks guys I love the leg warmers too, I only wear them after I'm comfortable with moves or if they don't get in the way of grip, when I'm learning I leave them in the drawer so I have max grip and chance of succeeding in a move, lol.

We need long rectangular restrictions for pole photos, not squares 🙁  Blah!

Thanks guys! Very interesting! I must say in photos the TG hold looks very very nice, I am envious but I'll get there one day! (one year, lol)

Yes it’s inside arm, sorry I got confused https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Well last night I had success, my body faced the pole and my arms extended yay! I released one leg but was tense cos I was excited, it was a rather ugly butterfly, I’ll call it a moth haha

Yes very very helpful thanks!!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif So for now I’m going to steer clear of TG forever til I’m very advanced, at least I know most of the same TG moves can be done in SG https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Thanks!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

No but that sounds very helpful, I will try that next time!!! (currently banning myself from the pole for several days cos I did a mega pole practice the last 2 days and can feel my whole body is recovering lol)

So far Ive just been trying it like in Veenas lessons (basic invert up, bring outside? hand down into gun grip and extend) except I keep ending up facing upwards hahahhaa

Thanks heaps guys!!!!!!!!!! I am going to commit myself completely to pole and work very hard to achieve each move/trick. It sure takes dedication! May 2011 see me gaining lots of strength and the ability to do some awesome pole moves (Cross Knee Release is my coolest yet, soooooooooooo far to go!)

Don’t apologize Veena! I know your very busy and you did accept me as a Facebook friend so apology accepted https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Sorry guys I just realized what I wrote!! I don’t mean switching from CKR to CAR in the same hold/move, I meant how to go from learning the CAR after mastering a CKR in general https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Sorry, my bad for writing it that way! Doing it in one move WOULD be interesting, but I’m a long way from that expertise!

Thanks for all the CAR tips guys! I am learning it from the ground and won’t try it from up on the pole until I can lift my body up with thigh support from the ground (from Veenas video). I guess it’s all about finding that ‘sweet spot’ I swear when I first tried learning CKR and locked my knee around and would try to lean back the pain and chinese burn was SO BAD I was like "I can never do this!!!" Now I can go up into pole sit, prepare legs and just drop back and there’s no pain or soreness on my legs after at all! Amazing what practice does…

Awesome!!!! Well done!!! I am trying to get the Butterfly but still can’t do it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I have trouble keeping my body downwards when I release the outer arm, I end up facing upwards https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 3-4 months into pole-land and the Inverted Crucifix was the first awesome move I was able to do!!! I felt a rush of joy when I got it, and now it feels second nature to just invert and release, and to rely on your legs to hold you up, it gets easier over time for sure https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I have the same problem and have been considering gloves for grip! Are you meant to apply a grip ‘product’ to your hands before slipping them into the gloves? I constantly slip down the pole in inverted moves and it is so frustrating! My hands feel just that… "clammy" it sucks
