My grandbaby is 1 1/2 She thinks its great fun to swing and climb with my help. I make a game of it and we stretch together and play with spins. I suppose it’s just a normal part of our life.

Sounds fun! You have all my original videos. May see if I can tie the new with the old when I edit.

Brilliant! I use bag rosin. Can’t wait to try this!

I bought a 2 inch OD steel pipe and painted it with an oil based paint. Then I dug a hole with post hole diggers and drove a tpost into that hole all the way down so only about a foot stuck up above ground. Then put the pole over the tpost and then added concrete. Leave about 2 inches at the top and allow the concrete to harden then fill in the rest of the hole with dirt to leave a soft layer on top. Boom. You have a bad ass, has a great grip outdoor pole. Make sure you check when getting your pipe that when you ask for 2 inch you as for OD…. Otherwise you could end up with ID….. Outer deminsion, Inner deminsion.

I cute a peice of 3/4 inch plywood and screwed it into my ceiling. The dome fits right over it and covers it. If your pole slips the plywood will "catch" the pole and keep it from falling on down. In one of my earlier videos here on sv I show it.

I live in a mobile home and have a pole in my bedroom. I also have vaulted ceilings. Somewhere in my videos there is one that shows the 3/4 plywood donut I screwed to my ceiling then put my dome over it. My poles not coming down with me on it. One bit of advise though. Make sure you dont overtighten your pole or you'll end up with a cracked ceiling!

MemberFebruary 16, 2012 at 4:42 pm in reply to: How has pole dancing changed your life?I started pole a month after my last surgery and after 4 years of laying in bed unable to do much due to cancer treatments. Pole saved my life!
My journey started in Aug 08 when I stumbled across a video of Karol Helms and thought. I love to dance, I loved gymnastics this would be a perfect way to build up my strength! After talking my ex husband who was taking care of me at the time into buying me a pole my journey began.
In the beginning it was all about getting strong agian but over time I learned that I could pour my emotions out when I dance weather anyone else got it or not and mentaly I felt better.
As my body has changed and I've gained some much needed weight I started learning that thin doesn't mean healthy and it's ok NOT to have a perfect body.
So basicaly pole has not only made me stronger, made me want to pay more attention to what I put into my body but has made me feel sexy. Imperfections and all.

I've so got to start getting back to studioveena and more away from facebook and youtube. I've lost focus! This sounds like a fun challenge and just the thing I need to get me out of my pole rut!

Love it!

I'm still working on this and can only get it about half the time but David gave me a really great tip and it helped. When you lean down to grap the pole drop your head down as low as you can before grabbing ahold and flipping on up. Assuming you are doing this from up on the pole. Basically get that butt up above you as much as you can before starting into the move. Good luck.

MemberFebruary 10, 2011 at 2:50 pm in reply to: X-Pole dome on drywall ceiling, add plywood or not?I cut a 3/4 inch peice of plywood and screwed it directly to a stud then place my dome OVER it. You can't see the plywood at all and should my pole come loose. That sucker won't go anywhere.
