I’m so glad I saw this thread. i got Bob Cooleys book awhile ago and started using his stretches and was seeing improvement. Then I stopped and moved and now I don’t know where my book is. This video will tide me over until I can get a new one.

I ahte to hear that you felt too old/big to post. That’s horrible https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
But I’m beyond happy to see that you’re feelings have changed now. What kind of things would one look for in a 40+ topic?

Thank you so much Mini for answering this!
Yes we are in the process of revamping our website, but we do still offer the xpert xpole with free shipping. You can purchase the pole at http://www.houseofpole.net .
We are adding more items bit by bit (as Mini said) but the poles are up and ready for purchase. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at mailto:houseofpole@yahoo.com https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I actually did legs today and I spent 20 minutes at the end of my workout stretching my hams. I don’t isolate my hamstrings much for this reason.I do lots of squats and that seems to do the trick. I’ve got some decent definition in the hammies without having to do a ton of hamstring curls but keeping them loose is always a bitch.

i think it’s actually easier to go into a chopper on spin then a regular invert– reason being that a regular invert brings your body in close to the pole, and increases spin– which for me, is https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif
to do an aerial chopper on spin- think of it like a fan kick, except instead of starting the movement with your inside leg and kicking out, you’re bringing your outside leg in, crossing it in front of your body, and then up and over your head (think of it as though your leg is the hand on a clock, moving counter clockwise) as you bring your other leg and torso up. it’s a lot easier (IMO) to do a straight legged chopper on spin then a regular invert, because you’re not fighting the centrifugla force pulling your body away– you’re working with it.
I think I do an chopper first every time I aerial invert on spin. My favorite is to do a pencil first for about 2 full rotations then chopper. I’m sure you’ll get stronger the more you practice.

Every single peice of choreo that I’ve ever done has statred in the car LOL. While I’m driving and jamming out to a song I plan to dance to. Like Mini said, certain moves feel right at certain points. So once I have the idea of how I want it to, I start practicing it and things evolve from there. I get some ideas from the music, then dance to it until other things come together, then practice it and practice it until I have a routine. I find that freestyling to a song that moves me brings choreogrpahy all by itself. All you have to do is make changes, polish it and get your transitions together.
Long story short…just dance to the song, maybe record yourself and see what happens……plus anything PoleSkivvies said. LOL
