I sign these petition thingys just because I want poledance to be recognized more mainstream period. I want more people to see it and see what we do and how fuggin awesome it is. I do agree with you ladies though that things will change if it were to become an olympic sport (which I honestly don’t think it will anytime soon) but I think it would be broken up into two different categories. "Polefitness" would probably end up being the competitive (olympic) form where women wear volleyball type outfits and pull off trick after trick after trick with not much dance inbetween. Kind of like the floor routines in gymnastics, ya know what I mean. They do those proper lookin sashay’s and steps across the floor, point toe here, arm wave here, twirl, jump then bam…flip, flip, bad ass move, flip, landing! Poledance would be what Alethea does and what Karol does and what Felix does. That’s the stuff you’d see in shows and at competitions like USPDF. There fore, I think it could be doable. That’s just my prediction though LOL.

I think it’s already kind of split up anyways. There are those that mostly pole to do trick after trick and then those that dance with a trick here and there. I love them both and they both inspire me. Even if it did make it to the Olympics and the "sport’ changed. The art would still be there…..even if only underground LOL.

For me as far as pole dancing is concerned. I love love love the sexual element of it. I just do. I think my own personal dance style will always have some sort of sexual undertones in most of it, but…. that can be turned on and off. I’ve always been very open about my sexuality and body and this may have something to do with my outlook on it. I think a strong sensual dance is beautiful.

When I dance barefoot to an upbeat song I rarely roll my hips and grind the pole, but once I put those shoes on and a slow song comes on my movement changes and there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve always compared pole dance to ball room dancing, where the pole is the dance partner. In ball room there are sexy seductive dances, fun upbeat party dances and classical slow regal dances. And to me there’s nothing wrong with any of it.

I think we as pole dancers feel the need to defend ourselves all the time and claim that our dancing isn’t sexual because we respect it as an art and want others to do the same. I don’t know many people who respect what the girls do in the clubs as art so we are always quick to point out the difference. There are different aspects to pole dancing just as with any other type of dancing. It can be whatever you want it to be. And if it’s sexy for you, you shouldn’t feel bad for that.

As soon as I tell people I pole dance and have a pole at home they say "Oh I bet Reggie loves that" or they call me a freak. They’re always suprised to hear that I have only danced for Reggie like 3 times and that he rarely ever sees me pole. It’s so much more then what first comes to most peoples mind. But…as our numbers grow and it gets more and more popular, people will get it.

I’ve never heard of a cup before so I just went to the divacup website and checked out a little bit and um….I’ve never seen anything like this or even heard of it. LOL, so the cup basically fills up…then you take it out, pour out the contents, wash it off and put it back in??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

SM hold is when you do a Shoulder mount and hold yourself in that position and do other "craziness" LOL.

I think any type of handsping, cartwheel and pretty much anything in a TG….especially the lift. So awesome!!!!

Hey thanks! I still can’t believe how much easier it looks.. Hehe and neither can my arms, could barely dress myself today! lol! Thanks for having a look. My sunwheel looks very raw I think, need to stretch my legs out and point my toes.. need to get the graceful part down! Gonna try get back on the pole tomorrow if my arms loosen up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Takin maybe a days break in between might be a good idea forstarting out. Poling every day might be too much. Your muscles need some time to recover and grow https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif .

I know everyones names of moves are different. A catch spin from what I was taught is you step with your inside leg, swing the outside leg around to the other side. The inside leg that you started with will slide up the pole to stop you from spining.

Xpose calls a "Halfspin" a catchspin.

I think that if we as the parents are the ones to exose them to it and they see first hand what "we" do on it there won’t be much for them to be uncomforatble about. My 13 year old knows full well what strippers are (thanks public school) and she knows full well that nither myself or any of my dozens of pole friends that she’s met are strippers. She’s sees what we do and she knows the difference.

This is wierd because I was just thinking about you Foxy and wondering what happened to you. I hope you feel better soon. With the time you have, hop back on that bad boy and get your body moving again. It will help with your mood too. But I don’t have to tell you that, right?
