You should try some dessert recipes that call for silken tofu, like vegan pumpkin pie. That can be a good way to ease into it, too. The trick for getting it into stir frys imo, is to make sure the pieces are tiny, like 1cm thick at the largest. Like amcut said freezing can help, just gotta get nice firm tofu. Sautee in wok with the oil/whatever you’re using for sauce so it browns and cooks and add other ingredients as needed. Just like if you were using meat, you’d brown it in the pan with the flavorings first (or at least that’s MY philosophy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif ). Then it cooks longer than anything else in the pan and by the time the noodles or rice are cooked it’s got a texture more appropriate for a protein. Read: not gooey. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

i’m going to try again…I bought some extra firm cubed…threw it in the freezer last night. gonna thaw it for tomorrow’s "attempt" lol Here’s hoping b/c I really do want to incorporate it into my diet!

My mother-in-law is also a breast cancer survior and she has to stay away from soy too! I wouldn’t know what to do if I couldn’t eat anything that was soy based!!

Lemme know how that goes Rox.

have you tried the outside leg hang climb (not sure what it’s called)??? that one is a killer for me and works both sides!

    1. chopper on the right side, hook your outside leg
    2. pull yourself up (hand above your hooked leg) as if you were trying to get into apprentice
    3. now you’re on your left side
    4. chopper on the left side
    5. repeat til you’re at the top!

I’ve been seeing this more and more lately and it’s on the top of my list of stuff to work on when my cast comes off. I just saw runnergirl do it in her newest vid and my jaw was on the floor the whole time.

My kids are 13 (daughter) 7 (daughter) and 6 (son) and they all know I pole. I was addicted to pole videos on youtube and here before I got my pole so they saw me watching women do some amazing stuff on the pole before they ever saw my feeble attempts. So they knew what I was shooting for. I pole in front of them all the time. I don’t do too much sexy stuff in their presence but if they walk in when I’m in the middle of a hip roll, they say "Ewww!!!!" Then go running out to pretend they are barfing in the hall. We joke about it a lot and it’s never been a big deal with them. My 2 little ones are pole masters them selves and my 13 year old thought it was cute until she gave it a try and saw how hard it was…she’s not one to work up a sweat. LOL She can do a decent fireman tho https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

    Wow.

This is why studios have you sign a waiver before you take classes. Pole at your own risk!

Those moves aren’t anymore unsafe then anything else. Like Amcut said, you can hurt yourself doing a firemen. You can fall out of a handstand and give yourself a concussion!

A studio and it’s owners do havethe right to teach what they want, maybe the owner doesn’t have faith in the people she has teaching those moves, IDK. I just wouldn’t want to see anyone thinking that a SM in particular was more unsafe than anything else.

I was eavesdropping on some good instruction and it worked. Thanks Angel….wh was actually teaching the straightedge, that I got first then the Aysha right after so I still thank her. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I lost all 90 lbs of my preggo weight plus another 10lbs…the only exercise that I do is pole! If you want to lose the weight you have to change BOTH your diet and exercise….but honestly I think diet has more to weightloss. How and What you eat effect how or if you will lose weight. I’ve recently been introduced to clean eating and it emphasises diet rather than exercise as the means to losing weight or getting cut! I haven’t stepped on the scale since I started but I’m sure I’ve lost a few pounds…here’s hoping!!

Pole dancing is a fun way to burn some calories…I can spend hours on end dancing! You forget that you are even exercising!!

Excuse me missy…you also use the elliptical machine as well ma’am. That makes a difference in your fat burning https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

These pancake recipes looks great…I must try them this weekend! I’m trying to get my whole family eating more clean! I can’t wait for my new cook book to get here so I can try some of Tosca’s "kid friendly" fare!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

That’s it. I’m ordering the kids book too.

Now that my mom is here to help me she’s having a hard time eating the way I do LOL. She tried to fry me some chicken the other night and I almost passed out when I heard the oil popping. She looked at me all confused like…what? LOL. I said I don’t fry foods Mom. She still fried herself some but baked mine. Now I’m on a mission to convert her to clean eating. She’s already lost 4pounds in the week that she’s been here!
