I’m a big wierdo man. I’m learning things all out of order.
I can do a straight edge, aysha (both split grip) and reverse aysha but I can NOT caterpillar to save my life!
I don’t know what it is.I try to push up and then I freeze LOL. I’ve been working on this move since I started inverting months ago and just can’t get it LOL. WTH!I’m with you on this one SissyBuns. I can do all the split grip stuff, but ask me to do a forearm or elbow grip or the caterpillar climb and I’m screwed. I found the split grip easier because you don’t have to do the caterpillar malarky to get into it like you seem to have to do with the other grips, you can just go into it from an inverted crucifix leg hold type thing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Mind you, it did take me a good few months (not constantly) of practice to get the split grip and I now find it easier to go into the jack-knife then I can move from there into ayesha and then straight edge. Just keep trying and you will find the one which suits you best eventually. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
I need to start working on the other grips. I’m very comfortable with split grip and I think it’s exactly because of the reason you put. Since I can’t caterpillar I’m not able to do the other grips, so split grip is the only option that makes sense LOL.

I have the ondemand, ive been using that to try new things. Ive got a yoga, pilates, ballet training and Yoga Booty Ballet DVD’s. Thats how I disovered the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have thier own workout video. (eeewwww, im a Redskins fan, but im willing to do thier work outs!)
Ive got no problem working out at home but due to the space of our home, I have to wait until the kids go to bed. Im also creeped out when my husband watches me workout. So I either make him get out of the house or go in the other room.
I also thought about heading to the local indoor pool and swimming laps for a bit. I lost alot of weight when I was swimming.
Hey, hey! No Cowboy bashing aloud! That’s my team!

Sissy- I think it’s just ‘Franchesca’- but there are no tags, so it may be difficult to locate https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
I dont have youtube at work, either. I have to do the same thing, lol!
LOL, it’s such a pain in the ass!
I found a proxy that I can use sometimes but it moves slow and I can’t sign into my account when I use it either https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Yeah its different for everyone! I’m a pretty cautious person and do not come from a fitness (at all) background so I usually do one move over and over and over to get confident before moving on to another. but then after mastering these moves, i find it easier to do similar ones. I had my gemini down for years but could never ‘figure out’ the scorpio until i started on SV. Sissy is absolutely right, work those hips and armpits into it! If you bruise, you are on your way. After having gotten the two moves down perfect and confidently with strong contact points i was able to switch between the two mid pole so easily i surprised myself!
You’re so right about the bruise. I was working on my gemini all the time and I would always check for the bruise on the hip and I never got it. Now I’m able to get it everytime and what do ya know…got myself a nice little hip bruise to show for it. Woohoo! LOL

LOL i just saw the new posts about this after i posted.. why does this always happen to me? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
What Louisax said- typically, the cover should be longer than the part of the adjuster rod that sticks out, which means that the cover is also covering a part of your actual pole. If you have so much adjuster sticking out that it wouldn’t make a difference if you took it off, then you might want to buy another extension. Somewhere in the Xpole pamphlet it tells you how much of it should be sticking out.. the less the better, & the more stable your pole will be. I don’t think it’s that dangerous or anything, but I ended up getting an extension because of this, and now my pole goes practically all the way up, with only like less than an inch of adjuster sticking out. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
Sissy.. if it’s covering 5 inches of the adjuster rod, how much of your actual pole is it covering?
Not very much.

Whoever took yours probably took mine too because I haven’t seen it in weeks… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Anyone do anything else to help w/pole?
Im training for Ms Xpose and I dont want to be in class that often b/c I dont want to find new moves and then try to work them in my routine and then it becomes a mess. My time is limited between working and being a mom. I really need the abs, I do the arms every day by doing push ups against my bathtub in the morning while I wait for the water to heat up. I really want to win a catagory this year and make it to the finals!
Awww!!!! I want you to win one too! Well me and you. I want us both to win one LOL. I’m only doing pole princess so let me have that one, LOL.
I lift weights and I looooooove it. It really helps with building up strength for pole but sometimes it’s hard to find a good mixture of the two. I have a pretty decent routine down now, but it took me awhile to figure out how to blend the two.

My adjuster cover is covering about 5 inches of the screw thingy. Maybe I need to use another extension…

the adjuster cover doesnt need to be used. I never use my adjuster cover, its just there to make the pole look better. and there isnt much difference between the 45mm and the 50mm as iv had a 45mm and i upgraded to a 50mm. after all its only 5mm difference which is very little. X
But if the adjuster cover isn’t on then theres just that screw thingy showing and I can’t use that either lol.
You don’t see any difference between the 45 and 50? Why did you go up?

Stopping the inverting makes sense to me too RaRa. Straining is bad for any type of hernia. Please let us know what the Doc says. Hopefully if you do have to stop it’ll only be temporary, once you get that hernia fixed up you can get back on that there pole!

We chatted about it on facebook and I’m pretty sure her scar needs to be treated, so it can flatten out. That will help the tenderness some, but if it’s still painful on the "inside", you may need more time to recover.
I’d invert less often and stop when it begins to hurt. If it’s a matter of healing it will just take time. I’d bring it up to the doc too Aster.
