I just got my first teddy the other day and Wow, the pain! And I got myself a nice little inner upper arm bruise too. I get that same pain from the corkscrew too but I find the more I have been working on it the more bearable it becomes. I always do it from the floor too, but maybe I’ll try climbing first and see how that feels.

I’ve seen that combo before and I love it. I think the move before you shoulder mount is called a figurehead. I’ve just started working on going from back hook to figure head, that’s the tricky part for me…

Wow Spinny, the first thing that I want to say to you is to STOP INVERTING! I am no pole pro and have not been doing it for that long but I do know that eye pain and bursted blood vessels after inverting is definitely not normal. Have you ever done anything else that required you to be hanging upside down and if so did you have a problem with that?
I’m a nurse and I’m waiting for the doc I work with to get off the phone so I can ask him what he thinks could cause that but you definitely need to see your doctor and stop inverting until you get it figured out.

MemberDecember 1, 2009 at 2:15 pm in reply to: USPDF March 2010 – Pro and Amateur NationalsI would love to go and watch the USPDF, I was trying to find out how to get tickets, like how much they are and where to get them but I couldn’t find any info, anyone know how to gets tickets, and roughly how much they cost??
I’ve been waiting for this info too! They were supposed to put up that info on their site on Nov 26th (for everyone who’s not a member), but then they changed it to December sometime unspecified. Blast! I want to go SO BAD, but i really need to know how much it’s going to cost so I can start preparing NOW! Eee gads! I hate waiting! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif
The tickets for VIP at regionals were like $70 bucks I think, so if it’s going to be anything close to that it probably won’t be over like $100, is what I’m guessing.

MemberNovember 30, 2009 at 3:20 pm in reply to: USPDF March 2010 – Pro and Amateur NationalsKarol…I’m confused so maybe you can answer for me.
Do I understand correctly? There were two regionals (for professional level only) and the winners are going to the finals in March to compete in the pro division.
There is an online entry for both pro and amateur (deadline 12/1) which will also send winners to the finals for both the amateur and pro division.
I’m confused how it all ties together?
The 1st place winner from each coast has a garaunteed spot in the 2010 Pro Nationals. (me and Amber) Anyone else who was awarded Pro status last year during the first nationals in march 09, and this year in either of the regional divisions will have to resubmit videos to get a spot in the Pro Division for nationals.
ANYONE can enter the amateur division. USPDF will choose 6 Amateurs to compete in Nationals, and the winner from Am Division will get pro status to compete in future pro divisions..
I dont think alot of pros got the email about having to resubmit… i havent seen any pros upload vids to resubmit for the pro division for 2010… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
hope that helps..!
I haven’t seen any vids either from the pros…I hope they know. Isn’t the deadline tomorrow?

I’d try to explain to her how important it is to have a strong foundation before you move on to the "cool" looking stuff. Learning basic spins and holds all helps to build up strength for the imtermediate and advanced stuff.
All in due time… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Punkrockgirlie tried Angels 38 yesterday and she said she looooooooved it. She said she was able to do a ton of stuff on it and stay on forever on spin. I don’t know if she tried anything that required leg grip on it though. I’d bet money that me personally would have a hard time gripping with my legs on such a small pole.

I think I am going to come to this – it sounds so fun! And a close friend who is battling ovarian cancer is probably going to join me – what a great way to support an important cause. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
That would be so cool!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
