I constantly imagine dance routines in my head when driving and listening to music.

You can also catch me cooking dinner with my foot propped up on the counter stretching my legs LOL.

I dance in the mirror almost every morning for at least 2.5 minutes LOL. It’s a fun way to start the day https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

So I am really happy as I will be starting accutane next week to help get rid of my ugly nodular acne! I have suffered with acne for many years. I used accutane in the 9th grade and my face totally cleared! It came back when I had my son, but has been full blown severe acne for about 3 years. The program with Accutane is to irritating though. I had to have a urine pregnancy test, wait 30 days and I am having another pregnancy test today. On Monday I have to have complete lab work done and then on Tuesday I can finally get the prescription after answering some online questions! So much trouble to get a prescription. I have tried Proactive and every single thing under the sun you can think of. Accutane is the ONLY thing that every really worked for me. I will be cleared up in a month and I am totally excited and wanted to share my excitement with everyone else. I think this will really boost my self esteem.

I am a Dermatology nurse and the Derm I work with only gives accutane as a last resort because of it’s side effects and potential risk for birth defects. Yes the derm has to harrass you and test you for pregnancy every month but it’s for good reason. We show all of our patients a little video that talks about the risks before hand so everyone is well informed and honestly (like most people here have said) the benefits outweigh the risks. People with severe acne are willing to try it out because it works and you don’t need to take it forever. We usually only go for about 4 months at the most and people are usually cleared up way before then. I haven’t had one patient complain!

I too have acne but I have a differet kind (comedome acne). I treat mine with Retin A and chemical peels. I’m very fortunate to work for a Dermatologist.

It’s funny sometimes my acne patients don’t think I relate to their problem because my skin is usually relatively clear. The think it’s naturally that way, but little do they know what I go through LOL. I tell them "It wasn’t always that way, I work for a Dermatologist" LOL

I know you’ll have great results with your accutane treatment (especially since you have before) and I’m happy for you!

It looks really nice. I can’t wait until I move so I can have a special "dance space". Right now my pole is squeezed in between a televison, my bed and a dresser LOL.

I’m looking for a bigger place now….preferably one with a basement that i can set up just for poling. man that would be sweet!

Do you leave your pole up all the time. What does company say? LOL

Im look to get a pole I cant stand not having one And this is in my price rang. so anything you know about this pole would be vary helpful thank you http://www.essenceofromance.com/eor/viewProduct.jsp?productId=154" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; the name is My sexy little pole thank you for reading

If it is indeed the same as the Carmen Electra don’t waste your time or money. If you want it that bad I’ll send you the one I got….FOR FREE! (Sike I would never give that thing to anyone, not even if they paid me. It’s a deadly piece of shit)

I agree that you should save up. I was anxious just like you and got every cheap pole on the market and still ended up getting an x-pole in the end so I spent more money than I needed to. Just save up and do it right the first time.

Learn from my mistake!!!! LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I lift too and I loooooooove muscle milk. I’m lactose intolerant so I love it’s tastyness and even the premixed shakes are lactose free so it’s right up my alley. For my post workout protien I use a whey powder…I forget the name now but it’s got 52g of protien which is sweet but it’s got that chalky vanilla thing going for it (I feel your pain amcut) so I don’t enjoy it as much as the Muscle Milk but it gets the job done.

As far as supplements I don’t take anything else but flax, borage and fish oil. I take biotin for my skin and nails (I’m a dermatology nurse so I’m obsessed with skin) and a daily multivitamin. I experimented in the realm of fat burners for a while but I’m all natural now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I lift specific muscle groups alternating days. Sometimes I squeeze full bodies in there but I usually like to give each muscle group it’s own time LOL. I do super sets with heavy weight to build mass and strength. The whole "toning" thing didn’t really seem to work for my body type LOL.

Lifting definitely helps with poling the only tricky part is trying to safely alternate pole dancing with weight training sessions while still giving your body time to rest. Liek veena said, rest is very important https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

If you’ve got the patience, I promise you will be well rewarded by learning to invert from the floor! You will build enormous amounts of strength in all parts of your body. You will not rely on momentum, but rather core strength. It’s so hard but well worth the practice. Start with your bum on the ground, then invert from a squat position, and then when you finally invert from standing, you’ll be laughing at how easy it is. Actually, I would recommend everyone who is already inverting to try it from the ground for a week!

And to start you off totally right, remember to try it on both sides. Of course 1 side will seem easier and naturally you will want to practice it more on that side, but do yourself a favor from the beginning and make yourself do it equal amount of times on both. I only learned on 1 side and have been struggling with the transition from chopper to inverted crucifix on my weaker side, whereas I never even think about it on my stronger side. For some reason, my legs get very confused when I switch sides and refuse to cooperate.

    Good luck!

so when you say try it from the floor, you mean from a sitting position or laying on my back?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON’T JUMP!!! You could seriously hurt your shoulders! I know this from personal experience. The best way to work on inverting is to do the following:

    1. both hands are about shoulder/face high. Outside hand on top, and inside hand on bottom
    2. Place pole on your side b/n your bottom rib and your hip bone. Try to keep constant contact between your pole and side. Think of this point as a pivot point.
    3. lift knees to chest and then tip torso backwards. To work on building strength do the knee to chest and hold as long as possible.

This is difficult at first, but you’d be surprised at how strong it will make you….it is a much more controled (ie prettier) way of inverting. Once you have the strength and control you can raise your arms higher and then lift yourself into it. Please don’t jump!

Also, remember to keep your shoulders back and down!

    Good luck.

Azriel is right…if you could post a vid it would be much easier to figure out/correct what you are doing.

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif Aww damn. You’re not supposed to jump? LOL I totally jump. Well maybe not "jump" but that outside leg definitely flys up with a lot of force…I’ll try working on doing it correctly. I learn so much here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

…..why haven’t my instructors told me that? LOL
