I pole and crossfit 4-5 times a week. Sometimes my tendonitis flares up, especially when I go heavy on my weights. I use Rocktape to support my forearm and help with functionality. I like it much better than KT tape. Its the same theory, just Rocktape stays on much better and longer.

It is a site with a few pros like Michelle Stanek and Natasha Wang. You can submit videos and the pros will critic the video for you. It does cost money. Their FB site was doing a weekly challenge with Michelle.

I have been wondering the same, the website was lacking updated information and I have not seen any information on the comps this year. Hopefully, this will not be a occurring trend!

Well, like I said, I am not looking for a complete piece but more of a helping hand in what I created. I have base line routines all written in my book, but I want to add more to them. That where I think a choreographer would be helpful. Do I want to dance just like that person, no. I have been workshops and classes with famous polers, but I do not pole like they do, nor do I try to cause I am me and they are them….

I just figured with my lack of dance background that someone with a stronger background would be helpful.

My next question then, is do you just contact the professional you are interested in working with? Guess in a way I am just afraid of them being like “Who the heck are you?”

I have no problem choreographing pole moves that is not the problem for me. If I was to hire someone to help me with a routine it would be for the floor. My last competition I was left in the dust there. I felt my lack of dance background showed. I see all this contemporary moves and dance that I have no clue and feel like an idiot doing. Of I was to go to someone, it would be help not create. Someone to say, try this here, or try that there. Not for someone to create a complete routine for me.

I see it no different than gymnasts having their routines tweaked by their coaches and such.

I do agree to should be mostly done by you, but to have a professional input is helpful

I emailed Michelle Shimmy about an outfit she wore in a routine and she told me where she got it, and it is probaly the same way the others do to. She had it personally made by Georgia Moon, the same woman who made the outfits for Cleo's video. I am sure that the reason all the cuts and fits are perfect is because they are personally made. They might contact a company and say, this is want I am wanting for this…. can you make it and there ya go!

I actually am a fellow Crossfitter and we have had 3 women who all have continued Crossfit during their pregnancies. There has even been women compete in the the Open and Reginals that where 5-6 months pregnant. No one knows cause it was not in a major magazine and only Crossfitters follow the games. Like the women stated in her article, she knows her body and knows when to back off. That is one thing I know Crossfit teaches you, to know your body. I have never been more in tune with it and if I was to ever come with child, I would also do the same as her. To each their own….

I bought it from an individual on a friend's studio FB page. It will work for what I am trying to do for right now and I will be buying a x-pole directly from their site!

As for putting it together, my husband and I did, however due to the carpet and it's weird plush, none of the extensions help to where it will stay up. I tried a mini inversion and my weight pushed the carpet in enough to make it move off the ceiling. Yay! So we have sat down and configured an 8×8 faux floor for the bonus room. Gotta love a supportive husband. Will see how that goes!

Another question, when using the poles like these, does the ceiling have to be completely smooth. My ceiling has a slight amount of texture to it and I was wondering if that would change anything. Sorry, I have always used Lil Minx pole, which I really like, but they spin so differently than x-poles!

Sadly, I cannot return it. I cannot even get ahold of the person who sold it to me. so it just goes to show that some people suck! I did figure out how to assemble the pole and it was not as complicated as I thought, just took some tinkering with each a part. This pole will do for now, I am just frustrated cause I thought I was purchasing an X-pole.

Chemgoddess1, I reviewed that site and it is not that pole either. I have no clue who made this pole. It it thick material and seems quality made. I have seen those poles before and they actual have a bottom more like X-pole, just very thin metal in the pole itself. Who knows….. thank you though.

I agree, things do not go as planned all the time. I competed for the first time recently and my spin pole is slower than the comp pole. I used much more momentum than needed and could not get into my flag and had to improvise. It killed me cause it was not what I had practice day in and out. But in the end, I had fun and my husband loved it and that’s all that matters!

Stuff happens, but in the end I think we are more upset and notice more than others!

    Rylonn,

I would eat meat over protein powder. Stuck to your lean meats, like chicken, fish, lean red meats. Grill it, bake it… Cook it as healthy as possible. You need the protein and if you are not a vegetarian, it is better to eat actual meat than processes protein powders. Powders are not regulated, so it is not promised what you get in that bag. Also, try to go as natural/organic with your meats.

I have tan across the website you speak of…. I looked into their products, but they are mostly the same products you can get at GNC. Many of there packages were bundles of glut amine, vitamins, and glucosamine support.

I would see a speacialist before you jump on that boat. I take glucosamine, glutamine, creatinine, and vitamins…. But I also have a Crossfit Nutritionist who watches my body and cycles me in and out based on what I am putting my body through.

There are tons of products out there and it can get confusing, that’s why I recommended a professional!

What I meat was the countless videos that I see if someone tagging their video with pole dancing and basically is just bumping and grinding a pole or floor. There are many if those out tee, who learn a few moves and throw those in with extreme sexual behavior and call it pole dancing. In reality, ibe can say that, cause they are in fact doing such. But I have seen actual strippers dance with much more class and art than some in YouTube

I will give my opinion and many may dislike. I have no problem whatsoever teaching women pole dancing that will use it to strip. Who am I to decide how they use it? In fact, I am harder on these students because of the fact that their skills will most likely be seen in the public. I teach them to make it an art, to tell a story with their dance because in reality this will make them more money than just “shaking booty”. Everyone has their reason for doing things and you never know what might lead them to that door, so instead of getting upset and frustrated cause they might strip, consider why they might need to.

Also I view it as, I would rather teach these girls to do it right with class. There will always be strippers, and pole dancing will always be associated with it, so if I bring up a handful of classy, badass polers, then at least I feel as though they can properly represent.

In a way, as a teacher I would be more upset to have a student say that they plan on learning all I have to give and only ever do it at the studio than I would to have someone say they will use it at work. Shoot, I have seen many many girls on YouTube who are not strippers degrade pole dancing much more than the stripper industry.

But I tend to digress, so I will end here.
