Mary Ellyn, I about choked on my water when I read that! Loved your take on stripper moves!!

Portabeleninja, I totally agree on the level of the video and that as I progress it will look more towards the competative side than the common dancer side.

I think in a way he coudn;t find the proper wording and used stripperish to explain how he thought it looked. He supports the pole dancing/fitness and encourages me to do amatuer competitions, so I know it is not a jealous theme, just lack of wording. As he further described what he expected, I think he thought that I was learning more difficult moves like the ones I show him in videos. Most of those are championships where they are doing combos and awesome strength moves. I think like with most people, he didn't realize that it takes time to do such moves and you cannot just jump into it.

Poledanceromance, thanks! I worked on that routine for 3 weeks and done the videos on here too. I also have my own pole at home, so I practice a lot. I love dancing and can actually pole dance better than I can out in a club!

Thanks everyone! I greatly appreciate the awesome comments. We always try to help each other become better at what we do and I am always showing him videos of famous polers and he said he expected it to be more like that than "dancey". Not that he thought I would be doing flips and TG lifts and all, just more moves and less dance.

I personally like the dance part because I think it flows better than move after move and that is why I do it. I also find inspiration in polers who are very sensual, such as Alethea Austin. So in all, I am happy with it. I was just a tad bit worries cause I plan on entering the Southern Pole Championship this June and did not want to go into it with too sexy of movements!

Our studio is selling it's stages, we have a X-pole Lite and a X-pole Stage. Both are $500 and are in good condition. There are a few very minor scratches from use, but not major or unsightly! Both have spin mode capability. The only problem is we are in Georgia and you are in California. Shipping is bout $300 from what the studio owner says. So that would round out to $800 for the pole…..

I know your budget is $500, let me know if you are interested though. I have no problem shipping them!

I read this earlier, but am just now able to post…. https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/4f31ef71-9818-4848-a90c-2a4f0ac37250 , I was so happy to see your comment. i have only been doing Crossfit since August, but since I have started I have had a huge increase in strength and endurance. i have done  P90X, bootcamps, etc, however Crossfit has been the best change in lifestlye for me and my family. Yes, family! We do it together!  Our coach is awesome. Anytime you work out he is strict on form and will correct you, but also pushes you to do your best. He is always going to workshops and learning more and more, to help us improve even more. He also focuses on our nutrition, which has made the biggest difference. Just because you are eating healthy food does not mean you are doing it properly, as I found out!

Doing Crossfit has allowed me to doing many moves that I was not able to do before. I plan on entering a pole competition in June and my Crossfit coach is actually using his time to cross-train me…. for free, only so he can help me reach my goals!

Also, it is not about a workout. Most Crossfits are small and the members become family. I see them 5 days a week and we all celebrate the holidays together and other events. I enjoy the workout and the bonding! It's nice to go and compete with a friend, have their support on a tough WOD and give it right back!!

Give it a try, every Crossfit box is different. I hope the one you go it like ours and that you love it as much as we do!

    Good LuCk!!

I have a fitness group on FB where I post daily dealing with fitness and nutrition. Our group is small (35 women, no men) and very motivational! Some women have lost 10 lbs since Oct 15th when we started our last challenge. You are more than welcome to join, it is a secret group where only the memebers can see and post, but it is free!! If you are interested, message me your email and I will send you or anyone else who is interested an invite.

GiedreB…. I do the same thing. I have had people ask me why I dance the way I do. I don't even know how I came about doing it. I was a exotic dancer for 4 years and just developed it as my own personal style and it worked! The hubs always picks on me when I practice, he says I look so snobby but sexy.

I pole and also Crossfit and I will say the ones that have helped me the most are butterfly sit-ups, v-up, jack knife situps, and knees to elbows if you have a bar….

Thanks, I have been looking into that now.The studio we have does not have the ceiling to support regular pole and we are trying to figure out a way to work with it without rebuilding the upper frame… Plus one of the instructors wants to use the rigging also for adding extras for her Russian Ghetto Workouts…

Thanks, I saw those online…..  but these were more like the end of a pair of stockings that covered the whole end of your foot. It is killing me, I have bought them before, just cannot find them again or the name of them!
