Aww I love these poles https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I weirdly find clear plastic gorgeous looking and I guess it has better grip than stainless right?
The aggressive back hook is my favourite spin so these poles might not be for me after all… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

I’m guessing you mean the inverted crucifix? Where you go into a basic invert and let go with your hands?
Anyways, try getting into the regular crucifix first. Experiment with leg placement and thigh grip so you can rely on it when you’re upside down.
When you go into a basic invert, your hands will obviously be in between your thighs so you won’t be able to squeeze all along your leg yet. So when you’re in the invert position, first take your bottom arm off the pole, reach down and grip the pole below you and tighten your thigh grip a bit right after you take your arm off. Your top arm is still there in between your legs, now take that one off too and squeeze harder with your thighs. Turn your waist around so you’re facing the pole and grip it with both hands now. There you go, inverted crucifix https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif This way you’re basically gripping the pole with both hands and legs at all times and you’re gradually tightening your thigh grip.Sorry about your fall, hope you didn’t injure yourself. If your legs are gripping correctly you won’t fall anymore, just make sure you don’t rush the move. Before you do it, play it out in your mind step by step!

I totally agree with the others, no one notices/gives a damn about the dots on your legs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif No one gets that close to your skin to thoroughly observe your shaving and hair growth habits lol.
I have the same problem, shaving gives me smooth legs for 5 hours and waxing/epilating gives me red dots. What you could do is use fake tan or a tanning body lotion, it will make your black dots less noticeable and give you a nice tan https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
If you wax or epilate, wipe your legs with an astringent afterwards to prevent inflammation of the hair follicles. Any drugstore product containing alcohol will do. I make my own astringent – I put water in an empty facial toner bottle, put some alcohol in it, dissolve 5-6 aspirin tablets in a few drops of water and put that in it too. Aspirin is a very strong anti-inflammatory and works wonders on irritated skin. This stuff really prevents the red dots on me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I hope your flight goes alright! My flight from Hungary to the UK was cancelled when the volcano first erupted and I got stuck for 10 days and missed an exam at uni https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
A couple days after the eruption some airlines made test flights and the ash didn’t damage the planes. I’m sure they won’t let anyone fly if there’s a realistic danger. So don’t do anything nasty to your shirt/chest https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I used Wellaflex and Tresemme Freeze Hold. Sakura didn’t it rub off on the pole? I might give it another go tomorrow, especially that liquid chalk is burning the hell out of the wounds on my hands lol.

It has to be Oh by Ciara. Everytime I hear that song I properly start to hallucinate pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’ve tried hairspray and it didn’t really work for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif It just balled up on my palms when I was spinning and rubbed off on the pole and made it totally disgusting. I’m still experimenting with liquid chalk and gloves…

Not sure what you mean by acrylic pole, but we have plastic poles at one of the clubs I teach at. You can see some pics on my profile (https://www.studioveena.com/upload_media.php?show=photos" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).
That pole with the air bubbles is awesome! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Where did you get it from?
I’m thinking of having a pole made for myself and acrylic looks so tempting… -
I didn’t pole for 6 weeks and when I got back on the pole I was better than before – so don’t worry! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
As the others said do plank holds, press ups, sit ups, leg raises and all to keep your muscles working. And definitely do some stretching into side and centre splits like every other day. I found that when I was pole-less I focused on stretching a lot more and I got really felxible https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif -
I was struggling with balance issues too with the split grip aysha! Then I realised what was wrong – my body was twisting to the side. You have to fully face the pole and for that you need to twist your body back a bit, as it slighty turns towards the side of your top arm when you’re in the position.
I look at it as the carousel spin inverted in the air https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif You bend your torso towards your bottom arm so you can keep your balance. That’s what you have to do in the air, tuck your elbow into your ribs and twist your waist towards the bottom arm. Hope this makes sense https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Yeah York is incredibly pretty (a bit small though https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif ). I’ve been poling for 1,5 years, the uni has a pole club so I can share the obsession https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif What are you studying at Birmingham?

Wow thanks for the mini-essay! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif I hope I’ll get it soon, it’s frustrating the hell out of me atm. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
