So it’s been decided! Hubby put the green light on getting a hoop in the house! So now I’m going to research like crazy. I’m short (5 feet) and use a 36 in class, and there is probably a good 6 inches from the top of my head to the hoop when I sit on it. So I know I’ll have to buy a smaller one – just don’t know what size exactly??? And I need to figure out if I should put it in my living room (11 feet ceilings) or my pole room which has 9. Decisions, decisions 🙂

Yep! I love to dance in leg warmers and most of my shirts don’t expose my middle so I’ve learned to do tricks without the skin contact :-). When I’m really bare in a two piece – I think about how amazing it is that I stick to the pole so well lol!

I have been using a 50 for the past 2 years. I never had any pain issues though, but I noticed that my fingers weren’t even close to touching! I don’t know why it never occurred to me :-). I didn’t realize how small my hands were until my six year old wanted to see our hands next to eachother – we have the same size hands lol! So I got a new 40 this month (my fingers don’t touch on a 45) and I have fallen in love with pole all over again! I wish I would’ve gotten a 40 in the first place! Everything feels so much more natural for me now. I was scared at first bc so many people say that thigh and knee grips are difficult on a 40 but i actually found them to feel the exact same. I’m 5 feet tall and small too. I think having that 50 for so long has definitely made me into a gripping machine though!

Chemgoddess – just wanted to clear this up. Polelateaz houston closed down, Atlanta is still open.

I know I’m a bit behind, but I did day 1 this evening :-). Question though for non beginners – are you doing your pole practices afterwards on the days that have conditioning? I would like to fit in flexibility training and my usual pole practices. Any suggestions of how I can do all 3 – 30 days, tricks practice, and flexy training?

This happens to me too. Are you able to edit your photos from your phone? When I select a picture to look at, I can choose edit, then tap the little curved arrow to rotate the picture. Then save it and it uploads the correct way. To avoid this in the future, try taking your pics long ways. Like holding the phone horizontally. Maybe that will help :-). I’m not too techy, but that’s what worked for my iPhone.

I just got a new pole and it worked perfectly! I just laid the pole on the floor after I put it all together and used the iron on steam. I would do a section, then roll it over to do the other side. I wish I would’ve known about this trick when I got my first pole!

My hubby just got home and I guess his big muscles did the trick! He just pushed it in with force. I don’t think it will ever come back out lol! Now it’s up and ready to go 🙂

Do you have a 40? My 50 doesn’t have the black rubbery rings but the 40 does. My 50 just slides right in too! The 40 will not go past the first black ring! It’s so annoying :-(. Hopefully xpole will get back with me soon!

When my oldest was not in school, I would pole while the baby took a nap. He would spin and climb with me! Now that he is in kindergarten and when my “baby” is not in preschool, I work out after lunch. Sometimes she will play in the game room but most times, she wants to be a part of my pole and stretch sessions. She is now 4 and loves being in the pole room with me. I prefer to dance in a more sexual way so I save my dancing for night time or when they are both in school :-).

I used to have a really big chunk of loose skin under my belly button but after a year of working out, it’s the size of a quarter now. I don’t think it will completely go away without surgery but I consider it a warrior wound lol! I think I’ve heard trainers say to give yourself a few years of truly working out before considering surgery.

How long ago did you have your baby? Some women get abdominal muscle separation during pregnancy and it takes awhile to get back to normal. Do you think that is the case? If you’re unsure, your OB will be able to tell you if you have it or not. If you’re all clear to use your abs, I would try lying flat on your back on the floor, knees bent toward the ceiling. There should be a natural gap in your lower back when in resting position. Then, like the others said, pull your belly button to your spine (don’t suck in your tummy). Just a gentle engagement of the abdominals. The gap under your lower back should disappear. Check with your hands. You should be able to breathe in and out during this. Good luck!

All this fun shopping talk has me looking at new short warmups and leg warmers for lyra class lol! I think I’m going to make a Christmas wish cart!

@adastra yes – the 36. They come all the way up on me and I wear them over my foot or over my shoe if I’m wearing heels :-).

Don’t know how tall you are but I’m 5′ and I love the ones from Discount Dance! I use them for floorwork, stretching, and they are great for lyra!
