Hi back from WV! In what part of the state do you live? I’m in Morgantown.

X-pole makes a great product, and it doesn’t tend to be destructive when installed. I had stages when I started out teaching and agree with Veena that the bases can be limiting. They’re also more expensive then a sport or x-pert. If you’re unsure about installation, you could contact X-pole and talk to them about your situation. I had good luck when I needed to contact them.

    Welcome and happy poling!

I have mine up in a trailer as well. I bought a vaulted ceiling mount, and my boyfriend, who formerly did construction, put up a two-by-four for extra support to mount it to.

Carousel spin in spinning mode is my nemesis! Lol. I can carousel all day in static, but put it in spinning and forget it! I know it’s mental. Even closing my eyes (which worked to learn my former nemesis Superman) does not work. I don’t know how to fix it. It’s so frustrating because I can do things that are sooooo much more difficult!

I agree with Casi that he is not the right trainer for you! I am a personal trainer and the whole point is to tailor the workout to the client’s goals. I’ve been asked to train people for things I have no background in (i.e. soccer), but researched and made kick-ass workouts for them.

As uncomfortable as it will be, you need to talk to him or the gym, if that’s who set you up with him, and tell them what you need and want. Hopefully he appreciates your honesty and it will make him a better trainer in the future (fingers crossed!), even if you’re no longer his client. If he doesn’t appreciate the honesty, it’s his loss. Remember: It’s about YOUR fitness goals, not his! Best of luck!

The studio’s 50mm I call Big Bertha, a student named the studio’s 45mm chrome pole Slutty Betty, and the X-stage is named Drogo. 🙂

I started poling because I was a exotic dancer and got bored just walking around the stage. Lol. I ordered Pantera’s Pole Tricks 101, then found other DVD’s and Youtube. I opened my own (tiny) studio last year in Morgantown, WV.

I’ve found that posting often on social media and flyers have been the best ways to reach people. I post pole& fitness info, motivation, and try to make a combo video at least once every couple of weeks and post it on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube with all the relevant hashtags I can think of; I’m always amazed by how many views I get! As for flyers, I hit every place that has a peg board and leave a flyer and some business cards.

I’ve also tried to list on all the pole websites I can find: United Pole Artists, PoleNation, X-pole, Pole Dancing for Fitness, etc.

    Hope this helps!

I developed an itchy rash with Dry hands. I think it was my own fault–I used it in my elbow pit, which wasn’t a good idea, in hindsight! 🙁 I stick with Mighty Grip and (in the winter) and haven’t had any issues.

July 13, 2014 at 4:50 pm in reply to: Pole specific protein shakes

AboutTime isn’t too bad on flavor and doesn’t seem to have the gag-inducing aftertaste of some of them. It doesn’t contain artificial sweeteners and flavors if that makes a difference to you.

Eating protein (hard-boiled egg, nuts, etc) is also good, but the thing about protein shakes is that they deliver the nutrients to your post-workout body faster. There are 3 types of protein powders and whey isolate has the fastest delivery time, I believe. It is broken down further than the other two types so your body doesn’t have to waste as much time breaking it down for delivery.

    Hope this helps!

If you can’t find an x-stage lite, I have a full size one for sale. It is less than a year old and I’m asking $550. I am in Morgantown, WV. Thought I would put it out there, just in case! 🙂

New X-Stages run about $800 and up, depending on where you look. As for shipping, I figure I’m going to ask at the UPS store if they can ship it and the price before I put it up for sale. I imagine it would be an insane amount, but it would be good to know. I would be willing to meet buyers for pick up.

Thanks for the going price! They are less than a year old and haven’t been roughly used, so I estimated higher. $350-500 wouldn’t be too shabby either! I can always list at $600 or so and willing to haggle! Lol

I’m hoping to get $620 or so a stage. Thank you for the advice about Craigslist. 🙂

It sucks to hear P2P went down hill.  I haven't had a subscription in a year or two ($ issues) but I considered getting one again soon.
