I don’t know how, But I didn’t see anyone post about "lick" by Joi…from the queen of the damned soundtrack https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

That sounds awesully sweaty https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif My hands sweat alot when I practice, and I’m in love with the product "dry hands". I usually buy a few bottles at a time. It keeps my hands from getting too sweaty and slipping off the pole. I love it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Me personally, I don’t really like to actually choreograph my dance…But What I do like to do before hand is practice my moves a littlebit beforehand and see which transitions I like to slap together during the song I’m dancing to. I try to keep in mind that it’s always more interesting if you move around at different hieights, and different sides of the room ( Standing, squating, on the floor, on the pole, left side, right side of the room, front side). I like to Really feel the music when I’m dancing to it, and give each side of the pole a little lovin https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif <3 <3 <3 I hope that helps!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Thank you everyone https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I’m getting the hang of it more and more…still not where I want it to be, but I will be practicing it as much as possible! @Amy I loved your video!! You do them wonderfully right at the end!!
Ottersocks I’m really going to practice it the way you described https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

I don’t…but that’s just me. It makes me dizzy if I do that actually xD. I Guess I kind of do something similar, when I’m keeping my eyes on the pole at certain moments. But for the most part I just keep in my mind the motion and direction that I’m spinning in, and try to flow with it. The more I focus on the direction I’m spinning in and wrapping my body around the pole, The easier it gets, and I don’t really get dizzy much anymore.

Ok, So I just posted a video of my attempts at this move. If anyone has any tips for arm/hand or foot/leg placement that might assist me with the move, It would be really appreciated!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

MemberOctober 10, 2010 at 4:01 pm in reply to: Any advice for the basic aerial invert?! I’m so frustrated! When I was first learning an aerial invert, I would try to pull my knees into my chest so I was really using my lower abs, and once my knees were up to my chest I kept lifting with my lower pelvic muscles, and straightened my legs out, so the weight of my legs kind of helped get me into position and keep it there too….if that makes sense? I also noticed that the inside of my forearm that’s closest to the pole is gripping the pole a teeny bit. I’m not a professional though, So I could be doing it different than an instructor would.

Have you worked on chrome before?? Chrome isn’t as grippy as other surfaces when it hasn’t been warmed up yet. I have the chrome x-pert 50mm too and I love it. You do have to warm it a bit before it gets as grippy though, So if you’re used to working on another surface, It might just take a while to adjust to. I like to do a few minutes worth of spins and wiping down my pole constantly to try to get it warm before I get started on mine https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I think it’s because That’s the side I use to hold my daughter in my arms…lol. Reguardless, I practice everything on both sides as much as possible, Because it comes in handy when you’re trying out more transitions, and drops, and things like that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Like Mel said, I moisturize right before bed time. It’s actually a better time to moisturize anyways, Because your skin repairs itself when you’re sleeping https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Then when you wake up in the morning, You’re skin is still refreshed and you’re ready to go! Right after You shower is a good time to put on lotion too, Because your skin doesn’t stick too the pole if it’s too dry, or squeaky clean from a fresh shower. Just try not to pole within the first 2 or 3 hourse of putting it on, and try to just ease up on "slathering" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
