Yes I had that problem too, but not anymore. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif A few tips:
– As you are not so confident in this move, try to make the swin not to fast, just to get the right feeling back. When you walk around your pole and then swing, you may go too fast. What you may want to do to practice the folowing first:
your dominant hand on the pole, your body a bit back (like one step) from the pole. your left hand is on your back and turn your hand so that your thumb is pointing down (may feel a bit odd). So you are already prepared to grab your pole, while you are swinging. Then step out with your right leg (your are next to your pole now), then step with left and swing your hips and your right leg in front of the pole to get some speed (while you do this try to grab the pole with the hand on the back) and as you have your hand on your back, ready to grab the pole, you have faster more grip, so you don’t have to hang on your dominant hand too long (not so much time to slip away). When you are more confident you can try it with more speed by walking around the pole.– keep your pole clean so it not slippery, use a all purpose cleaner and use a cloth to clean your pole
– try some mighty grip on your hands (maybe a little rough or sticky, but that’s ok to increase confidence, you can do without when you are more confident)
– try some tite grip if you have sweaty hands, for me it works ok, but I know a friend of mine uses it all the time.Hope these tips will help you! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
Good luck!

Ladystyling is like salsa, but then an extended version of the part for the ladies. So individual without partner. But you can use it while salsa dancing with partner. Haha little difficult to explain! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
Sure you can come over when you are in Holland!

Thanks!
Ah yeah, I know what you mean. Yes I try to slide down after an invert, I try not to flip my body and drop my feet because, indeed, it hurts my back. I always try to get out (off) the pole as smoothly as possible, but sometimes it is difficult, when I have not yet the move under control. So I also need to build my abdominal muscles. Very good to know. There is one other thing I have some problems with: pain in the forearm / wrist when doing the split hold. I have my left hand low with my thumb down and my right hand (dominant) high. But when I get out of this move, my forearm / wrist hurts. I know some other people from my class have this problem. Anyone a solution to this?
Thanks!
