I forgot to add that I was doing the conditioning daily for 4 weeks and wasn’t cleared to pole until I was re-tested. Before I would do the conditioning only weekly, as I could only pole once a week…then I was done for a few days. That was my mistake. So I hope this helps someone else!

I also have the same upbringing. My mom always had home cooked food on the table but that was the end, the strung out behavior and emotional trauma was similar.
I only eat because I’ll get shaky if I don’t, it’s like a checking account type of relationship. I wish everyday I could take the time I spent on food and put it into homework or cleaning. I thought it was wierd but I just live with it.

My sister is weirded out because I could eat clean with no problem. Heck the menu plans make it easy for me, less time figuring what sounds good. Usually it’s nothing.

Feels like a disorder but not typical. I’m not restricting just choosing healthy clean food. I don’t binge or purge so it’s not typical but I think it’s ok since I know realistically I’m not starving myself and maybe it’s a good thing I don’t crave the crappy stuff. Maybe it’s a control issue, but either way pole and music bring me joy so I’m not too bugged about the food.

Fight mediocrity, and Proctor Gallagher institute on YouTube are very good to listen to. Some of the richest people had these ideas and passed them on or the formulas they used. If you are very good at certain ideas then maybe you just need to fill in a few dotted lines. Not only for buisiness but for life!!!
I have been very successful learning how to re-write my story exactly the way I want it. I was medicated 10 yrs ago and it was very bad, I agree not a road I’d like to travel ever again. it’s been that long since I made myself my focus. There was nothing chemistry wise wrong with me I just needed to realize how this life works and get it to work for me.
100% of the time when someone is sending negativity your way they are projecting. They can’t give you any positivity b/c their cup is empty so they project how they feel upon you. Often this happened to me.

But you can go listen to this from people who I learned it from. If it sounds like nonsense it probably is but from these two it’s been awesome to listen to their ideas and incorporate them one by one so that I don’t feel bad anymore.

I second the stay off social media, this is the only forum I have been on in almost 3 years and it has been wonderful!!!
More than 1/2 of all buisiness’s fail. You chose to start a buisiness! That is HUGE!

Edison failed making a light bulb over 100 times before he got it right. 100 x’s!!!

The next time you start a buisiness you have the insight on budgeting and gaining more money to keep going. The lessons you learned are very important. Starting a buisiness is not for the weak. Grieve your loss, and get back up and move on you are awesome:
1 you knew what you wanted
    2 you acted on it

That is way more than many other people could accomplish.

You are grieving, that takes time. Although it’s temporary – don’t give your failures more space than they deserve because you have more work to do. Go get started on the next one and adjust your plan accordingly to what you have learned. You got this!

I had PT this morning, I was so excited lol. I haven’t poled in a month!
So she tested my strength and when I had my hands/arms in a V away from my body, she was pushing down, I couldn’t push back!! So essentially IV got no strength in my rhomboids so when I pole they are being way too taxed. And they are re-coiling in knots because of this. I’m anxious to see how this improves over the next few weeks.
I was so surprised no one told me to just stop pole, that was my worst fear! But we went through the exercises so I could learn how to isolate them….all I need is patience that’s the toughest part.
Anyone have any ideas how a healthy active mom (think laundry and toy pickup etc.) gets weak in one area? Is it really my posture, and phone watching?

I do have a foam roller and a textured one as well, they feel great actually, but I only use them when I’m sore. So rolling everyday wouldn’t be a bother lol. Ok sounds like a plan, Thank You All! I guess I’ll come back and update so it can be available for someone else to search for which could be helpful.

You know what, I keep thinking about injuries and I remember reading that scar tissue can do this. If my knots due to stress repeatedly caused scar tissue that could be what I’m dealing with and that’s what a sports massage might be good for. I made an appt.
IV always had this issue but poling brings it on like IV never experienced before.

I keep all my tension in my shoulders, exercising is what I’m using to cope with tension-I’m in nursing school presently. It is not an injury as the side changes at each pole session. When I had the stress knots I was handed muscle relaxers and if I went back I’d most likely be told to find another exercise. Kinda like doc it hurts when I poke my eye, then stop poking your eye. I could just ask for a referral to a physical therapist but since this is due to poling I started here first. When I perform mayofascial release for trigger points my head turning is back to full mobility. Working on my posture has also helped.
But the research I have read is divided on why it happens and it’s pretty common in body building apparently.
I just wanted to know if I should focus on strengthening or conditioning. Or which makes even more sense is for every pull up on the pole I should equal it with a push up. Or if I should maybe condition a whole week then see if there’s any improvement. If not I’ll go to a physical therapist since I saw it was common in bodybuilding I didn’t know if anyone here struggled with this.

The picture included shows exactly where this is happening.

I could work on lats was one recommendation maybe I’m not isolating the way I need to.
Working on conditioning for the rhomboids specifically.

I’m almost in the same boat. I quit jan 15′ and my weight rose I’m 20 pounds heavier over the last year. I bought my pole in November and I’m unable to even do every other day due to rhomboid knots. So like you I am upset I haven’t made it everyday yet, but the wieght did stop and I’m thankful it stopped, now I’d like to get it off. A year out and I’m still quit but it’s time for it to come off since IV handled having no ciggarettes ever again.
I would just have more patience with your body, it’s a big change for your brain and any hormone/metabolism imbalances and at 6 months I was suffering terribly still, but a year out I feel more normal.
There also is some advice to make sure you are eating enough to sustain your activities if you are poling everyday. Sometimes your body may hold onto weight if you are not eating enough. I’m in my early 30’s and I know that age may be an issue as well. I haven’t solved my issue yet but the weight stopped going up and that’s progress for me so far. But it took 10 months at least before it stopped for me.
Good luck with your quit I know mine is precious the weight is secondary. Congrats it’s a big accomplishment!

Ok that ceiling fan is installed on a stud minimum. The stud runs the length of the room, so you have a starting point. Stay in between the fan and the wall and there will be a stud there. There will be two spots to check but you narrowed it down. Looking up at the fan, if you had a big + the fan would be centered and then the stud would go to the walls. So you can pick 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions to check depending where your furniture is. But if you check 12 then check 3 with the plywood and stud finder and vice versa. Thin plastic or any other non reactive item would work also. Have a floppy cutting board? The goal is to see which way they run the length of the room. ||| or = .You can then use the fan and the wall as your guide with what your stud finder finds to be certain you have support.

There may be no BEAMS but there are STUDS, that’s how the popcorn stays up there. Are there any ceiling lights? Fixtures specifically?
