Oh duh- I just reread your post and you said you can’t get it just yet- duh lol
It’ll be worth the wait 🙂 -
Yay!! Glad you went with this option!
Let me know how it goes ! I would definately get this one if I had the money 🙁
You’ll love brass too…
If my xpert crashes and burns I’ll definately be getting one 🙂
It’s only 2 weeks old so hopefully it stays good.
Have you ordered it yet? -
Glitterhips- watched your video- your amazing! So fast tho I had to pause the vid! Loved your shoulder mount spin- beautiful 🙂
-
Thanks everyone- I’ll give it all a try 🙂
Nymphdancer – does becca have a tutorial on it anywhere? For the transition from crucifix?
I’ve tried from the pike hip hold but I can’t seem to wrap my head around it!
Argh this move! -
Moonflower-
Ive only had it for a couple of weeks and the first time i used it it was very slippery.
I now have a heater on in my pole room 10 mins before i use it and no more problems 🙂 -
Heard amazing things about pussycat poles! They were a bit more than I wanted to spend but you can get them in 38mm , 45mm and 50mm.
Im in oz too and miss pole SA last year has decked out her studio with them!
If you have the money ive heard they are great 🙂 -
Honestly – I initially learned from home on a 50mm stainless steel and it was incredibly frustrating.
I now have a 45mm brass and I wish I had it when I first started! Would have saved ALOT of frustration !!
The smaller size is soo much better and the material is so much more grippy.
45mm brass!- my two cents 🙂 -
I used to dance on a ss and had SO many grip issues- it was extremely frustrating.
As you know- I just got my brass and did have some grip issues initially. The problem is completely solved now that I make sure there is a heater on in my pole room about ten minutes before I go in there.
Brass has AMAZING grip!! I love it so much! No matter how much I would warm up my old ss the grip was still extremely slippery.
Go brass- it rocks!! -
I watch vids on YouTube.
Put on some music that I love and away I go 🙂
I usually start off with doing some dancing and enjoying myself and then working on perfecting moves -
Well I think I found the solution! Thanks to everyone who commented!
I tried cleaning the pole with acetone which cleaned but didn’t make it too slick.
I put lotion on the day before.
I put a heater on in my pole room 10 mins before i went in there.
I spent some time doing spins to warm myself up and the pole a bit more and voila – no more grip issues!
Think the main thing that worked was the heater as it is winter here. I kept the heater on throughout my whole work out which kept me pretty sweaty but no grip issues 🙂 YAY!! -
Oh and extended butterfly 🙂
-
Super proud of myself and had to share!
I haven’t poles in 1 year and 9 months after having a baby.
My first encounter resulted in major slippery leg grip issues 🙁
Just had my second go and on veenas wonderful advice I tried lotion a few hours before on my leg, warmed myself up and also put a heater in the room so my pole was nice and hot.
I got all these moves- rusty- but I got them-
Handspring, figurehead, aysha, reverse aysha, caterpillar climb, leg hang (but no switch yet 🙁 Scorpio, Scorpio handstand, air chopper.
YAY!
I’m still super rusty and have major pole burn and my belly looks pretty flabby judging by the videos- but I did it- WOOHOO!! -
Madfelice- great idea, thanks very much I’ll give it a try 🙂
Ss- thankyou but yes I tried rubbing alcohol too! Ahh
I used to dance on both 50mm & 38mm so I don’t think it’s that. It’s just slippery. So frustrating.
Plan of attack- warm up pole and myself, moisturise a few hours before and clean with acetone! Fingers crossed 🙂
Thanks ladies, really appreciate your help! -
Yes it’s the new xpert.
Grr it’s so annoying!
Bit of a worry if alethea mentioned the slipperiness!
It’s strange because I stick really really great with my hands but not with my legs?!
Veena has suggested getting warmer and using a lotion for my legs a few hours before – I’ll give it a try and hopefully it’ll work!
I’ve got sweaty hands and a great grip with them- just bad grip on legs. Very frustrating! -
Thanks so much I’ll give it a try 🙂
