Thanks veena!
I’ll check out the vid and I’m definately thinking your lessons might be the go this time! I feel like I’m starting all over again!
I still don’t understand why my legs just won’t grip! So annoying. I can invert fine ok, I seem to have the strength to get up there but my legs just won’t stick on the pole!
Did you every experience this after any of your babies? -
Yeah I have! I tried glass cleaner first and this made it worse! Then gave it a good clean with water.
I haven’t poled since before I had my baby (1year9monthsago) so I’m wondering if maybe it’s just a lack of leg strength ? Weird thing is I have great grip with my hands and can even do handsprings! It’s really frustrating! -
Sorry to bump up an old thread!
My baby Is one and I’ve just started poling again.
Im back to my prepregnancy weight and I’ve Been doing lots of kickboxing and feel pretty strong.
But…
Back on the pole… My god!
I’ve just got a brass pole and it’s great on my hands & I can still do handsprings 🙂
But I can’t seem to do a simple leg hang! I used to be able to do everything.. Including drops etc.. It’s very discouraging !
The main problem is having trouble gripping with my legs- I just slide off. Do you think this Is just lack of leg strength or a slippery pole?
Weird the grip is amazing with my hands but not with my legs!
Any advice would be great 🙂 -
I’ve had my pole on slippery tiles before and it never moved! It should be fine as it is 🙂

Landed on my head!!
Scared me but I tried it straight away and got it!
Having said this I haven’t poled for 1 year & 9 months- I’m starting again on wed- bet I’ll be scared to attempt the holly drop again for a while ! -
Has the comment been removed? I couldn’t see it.
Whatever they said try and brush it off if you can, I’ve had some rotten things about old videos on YouTube. Some people just have to be nasty for the sake of it.
I loved your video, it was awesome. -
Ok I’m probably going to get eggs thrown at me for saying this- but I’m a former personal trainer and know a bit about this subject.
Usually when women are experiences this problem it is due to too much food / wrong type of food consumption.
For example- there are two main phases that body builders go through. Bulking and cutting.
In the bulking phase (gaining more muscle) they eat plenty of carbs and protein.
In the cutting phase (reducing body fat) the carb intake is much lower. They cycle through these stages deliberately in order to change their shape.
Veena made a very good comment about how to do your workouts. By increasing your reps and lowering the weight you are working on strength and endurance. While less reps and heavier weights is working on gaining actual muscle.
I would definately start by having a close look at your diet, in my experience it affects everything!
Hope I helped 🙂
