It is totally normal to blister. Your hands will eventually get used to the spins and you wont blister anymore. The same can be said about grip. The more you practice the less you’ll grip like your life depends on it!! Its all about practice practice. But the great thing about it too is the fact that you’ll feel like a million bucks when you nail spins and tricks. Thats what so addictive about pole dance!
Unfortunatley its impossible to put a time on how long it takes to build upper body strength. It varies from person to person and depends on a lot of factors, i.e. how often and how long you practice for, genes, etc.
One piece of advice that I wish had been given to me from the very start (and which I learned here at Studio Veena) is to make sure you do the spins on both sides. This speeds up process of strengthening your upper body and it also ensures that you’re muscle tone is ‘balanced’ on both sides… -

Oh I know there’s no way to lose weight in a specific area but I was wondering is there a certain exercise that could tone my lower back n sides!!!!! Like a special stretch or side push up or something… I dont want to lose an awful lot more weight than I already have cause Im afraid I’ll lose my shape if I do! I dont know how strong you are yet but I think you should work on inverts and getn much stronger before you try shoulder mount. Perhaps Im wrong but thats the general consensus around here.
I dont have Veena’s lessons because I I have an unpredictable internet connection and I already pay for studio lessons but I WISH I could get them! Veena is an excellent teacher! Her lessons are in order of difficulty so that you know what you should be working on and when. Veena breaks down the moves in a calm, easy to understand way.

Oh litlbit Im sorry to hear you have to go through this. Im sure you know already but you’re making the right decision. When you’re not in love anymore I dont know what the point is being together. benice, it really can be frustrating when this happens. Its happened to me a couple of times and it IS very disheartening! But the thing you’ve gotta do is keep going. Dont give up!!! You’ll be so proud of yourself when you kick that move’s ass!! My advice (for what its worth) is to give gemini a break. You’re probably so peed off about your twin getting it that you’re trying too hard if that makes sense!!! Concentrate on something else for the moment maybe.
