The exact same thing happened to me glitter!!! I got it 1st time last Wednesday in class and I figured that Id be able to do it loads then!! I tried to do it Thursday: nothing. Friday: nothing. Saturday night I had friends over and I figured my body would have recovered and rested and I should be able to do it (I wanted to show off) and NOTHING!!! I tried over and over and over!!
I didnt bother trying Mon or Tues cause I wasnt on the pole at all. Tried yesterday: nothing! Then today I did a really good practice and I got it twice…out of about ten tries!! Ugh!
WTF like!!! Maybe someone that does it regularly can explain this to us!!

I DID IT!!! I finally got the Knee Hold hands-free!!! I even posted a video to show you guys!!! I dunno what came over me!! I wrote quite a loong description on the video but if you guys dont feel like looking at the video here’s the description (essay!!!!!) I wrote!
"Woop woop!! I dont usually record my practice cause my camera battery life is bad but I had been trying to see if I could do Double Knee Hold one handed and couldnt so I put the cam on so I could see where I was going wrong. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere I got a brain wave about regular Knee Hold (to get into it from gemini and that way my hold would be more secure and Id feel safer letting go…) because up til now I hadnt been able to do it hands-free! Low and behold I got it!! Only for a few seconds cause I kept throwing my arms up in delight and putting myself off balance but hey its a start!! (Sorry about the essay type description!!) Cant believe I caught this on camera!! Im so happy I get to show you guys!!"

Wow you’re doing great girl!! The pole sit is brilliant to help make your thighs less tender!! It hurts like hell but its worth it in the end. Do it a few times every practice and your pain threshold will strengthen very quickly! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

LOL my legs have bruises in the exact same places!!! Ive been poling for quite a while now but I bruise ridiculously easily and Ive been doing a lot of new moves recently!! I havent tried arnica but I will have to because its almost ‘skin showing season’ here in Ireland and also Im getting married in June!! I know its not got much to do with stretching but during my pregnancy I did a lot of walking and my midwife told me that it was probably the main reason that I delivered quickly. Just be very careful in the latter stages of pregnancy that you dont walk too far!! (That happened to me and I got tired half way and had to get my man to collect me in the car!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif )
As far as stretching goes I think the girls have hit the nail on the head by suggesting pre-natal yoga. I cant speak from experience but Ive heard great things about it. If you cant afford classes or if there are none available near you, might I suggest that you purchase a dvd, Im sure there are some on the market these days. There are a couple of yoga instructors here on this site and Im sure they can advise you better than I can. ‘yogabeachbabe’ is a yoga instructor as far as I can re-call. Also Veena is a certified pre and post natal fitness instructor….
