I think you can give yourself a pat on the back for the accomplishments you've made without taking away from others. Just because you're good at something doesn't mean someone else is automatically better or worse than you…..it just means you're both at different stages. And that's OK! How boring would life be if we were all at the same stage in life or ability?! It's never healthy to compare yourself to others in anything you do. If you find your train of thought headed that way or in a negative direction tell yourself, "No, I will not think like that. I am not . I am me and I am awsome. I am comfortable with where I am right now. I realize I have more work to do to reach my goals and that's great!"

Another question in line with this…. just wondering if there are any plans to make the forum more like an actual forum instead of just a news feed? I'm missing some of the traditional forum tools like uploading photos to a thread, editing a post after you've posted it, and stuff like that.

BTW – this obviously is a vaulted ceiling, but the part that attaches to the pole swivels so you can use it on a flat ceiling too.

MemberFebruary 17, 2011 at 11:31 pm in reply to: Does anyone have an XPole Permanent Mount?Yup, I have it (due to my vaulted ceilings) but you can certainly use it on flat ceilings as well. Search here for Xpole vaulted ceiling bracket and you'll find some threads w/ pics in it.
I've used the dome but now use the permanent mount. It works wonderfully but installation is definately more involved….for example, the bracket has 6 holes round the edges for the screws to secure the mount to your ceiling…but only the 2 top and bottom screws would line up with a joist. So I had to get in my attic and secure additional supports to the side of my joist for the other screws to mount into….

There's no padding in the spider bra, but the fabric is thick-ish. It's kinda like two pieces of fabric are sewn back to back….definately not just a single layer of fabric.

I posted a tutorial here a few months back on converting and editing videos for free. I'm sure it will pull up if you do a search. 😉

MemberFebruary 10, 2011 at 2:17 pm in reply to: X-Pole dome on drywall ceiling, add plywood or not?I have not ever read a recommendation to use plywood between the dome and drywall. I would thik that would be more dangerous because the wood would be slippery against the drywall. I have the Xpert and put the dome against my drywall without any damage or problems.

Are you thrusting your hips forward? When I was learning these moves if I had any bend in my hip then I would slide. I have to really push my hips forward to lock the knee in tight.

Yes! I use Audacity. It's free….may take a second to get the hang of it but there are easy tutorials on youtube.

Oooh, good point vanessa! Once I was using the shorter 7mm Xjoint that's meant for the very tippy top of the pole when added extensions are in place instead of the 8mm Xjoint. Once I grabbed the right joint, problem fixed.

Ya, the written instructions are a little confusing imo. When you do them side by side with the video it helps tho. Get some rest and try again tomorrow. 🙂
