I’ve been waiting to order mine until more colors became available. If you’d like a beta tester for the new fabric, I’d be happy to. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

SimpllySweet – do you have any pics you could share?

Thanks for posting that! Hmmm, the screws look mighty small and inefficient, no? I think I’ll order one and try it out….although I may go buy heavier duty screws. I’d hate for them to work themselves lose and damage my ceiling drywall.

All I’ve heard is that by the time you pay for shipping it’s like over $1000 https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Did you get to see a pic? Does anyone have one they can add to this thread?

Ohmygosh, I could write this exact post. I baby my arm all the time because it just doesn’t take much to put me out of commission for weeks on end. SO frustrating! Only diff w/ me is I’m in front of the computer all day at work, all night at home, and either on my pole or holding my heavy pro camera (I’m also a photographer) so it pretty much hurts all.the.time. Sucks.

Don’t be so discouraged — poling takes TIME (a lot of time) to build up the strength, stamina, and of course doing things with the proper technique. Do some searching on here about injuries and you’ll quickly see how taking the time to build strength first is worth it. Doing the moves with the proper technique will pay off in the long run by protecting your body from injury. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif You *shouldn’t* be able to do all the tricks right off the bat. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I did see your video. That was rotated upright? You must have a very nice recorder. Do you use a digital camera? If so, which one? Or do you use a camcorder? Your video is very clear. I’m still practicing with mine. Might try one more time. I think I did mine the long way and maybe that’s why it’s not so good. I don’t like the quality of final result. I’ll try converting straight from .MOV to .WMV to see if it’s any better. I think I need a better digital camera, mine is so old. It’s a Kodak EasyShare 3.1 megapixel. Thanks for all your help.
Yeah, it was recorded holding the camera vertically so when I uploaded it to my computer the movie was horizontal. I converted the file and then using Windows Movie Maker, I rotated the clip back to verticle. I use my digital camera which records video as well. It’s a Canon PowerShot SD940. Let me know if you see any improvement using your Kodak with this method of conversion and editing, k? -
@Cali – glad you’ll find this helpful!!!
@Hooked – I don’t use the conversion program to edit the videos at all. I simply use it to convert the .MOV to a .WMV file. That way, I can import the .WMV file into Windows Movie Maker for editing. I use Windows Movie Maker to rotate my clips and no distortion occurred at all. In fact, you can see an example at the movie I just uploaded yesterday and it was recorded in verticle orientation.
The logo and watermark also would be something you would add using Windows Movie Maker. The conversion program is simply to create .WMV files so Windows Movie Maker recognizes the file type since it does not recognize the native .MOV file type your camera records in. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gifI hope that helps!! For your paid members area, look into vBulletin. I use it for an invitation only paid photography forum I run and it’s great. I actually like the functionality of it better than SV’s forum (ducking from the flying tomatos being thrown at me now). I also use aMember to manage the payments from the members; it works in conjunction with vBulletin.
For your website, you should consider just running a wordpress.ORG (not wordpress.com) blog because you can get a theme that looks and functions like a site. And it would save you the hassle and headache of writing your own site.
