And it is NOT my intention to say mean things here!!! I’d still like to share a little bit of my experience, since you’re asking.
Perhaps she’s just not the right person for me … I simply don’t like the way she teaches. Have a look at her DVDs, if you’re uncertain, that’s cheaper. She did not make fun of me (at least not when I could hear it), but she looked down on me and asked me a couple of time whether I was sure I could go on with /do the next trick (which was quite easy), when I was clearly already able to do it. I think she asked that because I was not as ripped as most of the other girls, and may have seemed too chubby for her likings. Maybe it was something else, I don’t know. But that was an insult, alright! lol. Anyway, that is not the only thing. Like, she stood at the wall, chatting with someone else all the time (really, she would show something and then let us struggle with it, occasionally casting a glance at someone). She’s never gonna see me again. But if you girls like her, that’s fine with me. To each his own 😉
Now on to some more positive reviews: I personally do not like Zoraya’s style when I watch her videos, BUT I loved her workshop. She was very funny, and awesome at explaining. She taught me many good things – not all of which I am yet ready to do myself, but I wrote them down. Her hubby kept in the background, and was always there to spot and help with tricks. I would always recommend her. She uses the phrase “if you do this (wrong), you’re gonna die” a lot – I thought that was very funny the way she said it, AND true!
Jenyne I would say is almost superhuman to me, when I watch her perform. But she’s been very kind to me and not at all stuck up, although she certainly could be, with all that success and a big name like that.
Just my 2cents!

I’ve taken part in workshops by other stars too, but those 4 were my favorites.
Then there were some which were so-so (I liked but did not LOVE them – still got something good from them), and then there were the ones I did not like.
Bear in mind that not everyone who can dance can teach.Sorry to say that – please keep in mind that this is SO subjective! – but I personally did not get anything out of Alethea’s workshops (and I did 3 of them). She made me feel bad about my body everytime, and like I’m not good enough as a person to be in her class. I attented 3 of her workshops though, because that was in a phase when I thought, I had to attend any workshop if I got the chance! 😀
I also was VERY disappointed by the workshop a winner of a European championship gave the day after the competition. Okay, perhaps she was overwhelmed by her 1st place and did not prepare anything for the workshop (because only the winner would teach) – but she came to the workshop still being drunk, had not slept much the night before, and, as I said, had not prepared anything, so she did not know what to do, and did just something. Now THAT was money thrown out of the window. ^^I did a Sexy Chair workshop with Marion Crampe last summer, she was also really cool, fun, and a bit weird (the GOOD weird!! lol) – but as I said, that wasn’t a pole class, so I can not say anything about those.

I find this very interesting, as I’ve always been taught to use the twisted grip for ayesha and handspring, like there was no other way to do it. I’ve also been taught to SM using the twisted grip. I hardly ever use it, though, I like cup grip way better for the SM. Seems I’ve been right 😉
-
Would you say the same things apply for the SM? Should a twisted grip be avoided in general, or just with handspring/ayisha thingies? I guess it’s never good – it doesn’t feel good with a SM anyway… I just thought I’d ask 🙂

Low-cut shorts (if you con’t have any, you can try folding the top down) and a shirt and/or sports bra with big armholes, aka much skin exposure in the armpit and shoulderblade area, will certainly help. Too much fabric is your enemy, when doing these moves 🙁
I don’t want to seem like a perv, but you could also try it naked, to see if it works when there is no chance for clothing to get in the way – and work your way up to wearing a top again. I would only advise doing this at home, though ^^ – and only when doing the Teddy, NOT the Gemini, as it is probably better not to get your privates on the pole 😉 -
That's an idea, thank you! What's the Viwa? I've never heard of that move 🙂

Thank you ladies! Would you make a difference in the costs of a) teaching at your own house (it's only my living room, not a special polestudio or something, but it's nice and clean of course https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif and I would provide mats and tea and the like) and b) coming to the student's house (where I would also have to bring my own mat)?

Now I see why they are used in Slovenia https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Thank you chemgoddess!

I asked the same question on facebook. One girl said, the poles are 42mm, and she liked the grip on them. Competition poles in Slovenia are always by Lupit, they said.

Thank you so much ladies! I happened to have a doctor in my class today, her advice was:
rest (duh!), and rub with tigerbalm. There are plenty of salves and stuff on the market she said, with or without added painkillers (like voltaren), but tigerbalm is still the best (although not really "mediciny" stuff). https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Thank you Reenie!!
So you recommend cooling it – I will try that! I've had it before and never went to see a doctor, it always went away after a couple of days. But perhaps you're right, sigh. I'll still go and ask the apothecary first… perhaps they can give me a nice balm or something.
YES, I hate the R-word! lol … resting sucks! Also, in our studio we do everything on both sides – so now I have it on both my arms. I don't want to think about the pain I woud have if I'd done it on one side only https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif
I am concerned why it appeared now. As I said, I did nothing especially tiring, just a couple of spins and inverts … no handspring or such! I used to teach 4 classes a week before my 2 week break, and I had nothing, but now, after only 2 (as the week's just started), I have pain? I mean, what the heck? Not fair! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

i can make sounds like sheep, and i've had several lambs answering my cries. i also make a pretty decent chicken sound, and can imitate a child's voice perfectly. apart from that … probably my biggest "talent" (and most annoying for myself, lol) is noticing the nervous tics (fads?) a person has within absolutely no time and then being constantly annoyed by them, while no one around me has ever noticed them until i point them out (and sometimes not even then, lol). https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Sooo, I've had enough time now to try the Meluna cup (thank you Crystal aka Witchess for liking my post and reminding me of this thread! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
First things first: I love it. I am never going back to using tampons. Ever. Noooooo way.
I like that it does not dry you out, and that it's absolutely no harm to your body. You can't get sick from it – tampons can make you sick. I absolutely love the fact that it's much better for Mother Nature, aaaaand for your purse! ^^ (Really … calculate how much money you spend on tampons etc. in one year. It must be around 100-150€ or 130-200USD. It's way too much. And then imagine how much waste there is, just because of this. Unbelievable.)
Another good thing about it is, no more fear of a blue thread hanging out of your bottoms when you're going swimming!
True, removing it needed a bit of practise. And sometimes a little bit comes out to stain my underwear. But that was the same with tampons – when I started to use them, I had to practise how to get it in and out (and even after years it hurt sometimes), and often hald of it would be soaked through, leaving stains in my panties, while the other half was as dry as a new one. Which hurt when I removed it. Ugh. (I talked to my best friend about it, and apparently, that's not something that only happened to me.)
The only downside for me is, that I don't always have one at hand when the period starts surprisingly. You can't buy cups in the shops here, so if it really surprises me when I am on the road and there is no time to go home, I'll have to use those much hated tampons (buy them, or borrow one, or find another way not to bleed in my jeans until I come home).
I can not compare the Meluna to other brands, as I've only tried this one, but I can certainly recommend it. I prefer the one with the ball to the one with the stem or the ring. Can't imagine using it without anything at the bottom now, though. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

I've watched a lot of "how to put rhinestones on shoes"-videos on youtube recently, they all worked with glue e-6000. and most of them said it's way better to work with glue than the hotfix, 1) it's cheaper to buy no hotfix stones and 2) it's quicker. of course that's for shoes, but i think it works the same for panties, bras etc 😉
btw, ebay is a good source for rhinestones! i ordered from a store called please come in, and i can't wait for them to arrive so i can bedazzle my shoes!!! but there are a lot of other stores on the internet too, of course.i just found that ebay is way cheaper than buying them in an actual shop!
