I use only static at my house because…well, that was the only one I could afford at the time. I do find hard now to switch to spinny.. but I have to tell you, yesterday I went at a studio here in  Winnipeg to train, they open just recently, and they have 13ft competition X poles, and the spinning mode was so smooth is was so much easier. I get dizzy pretty fast but yesterday, due to the poles, it wasn't that bad.

    Well first of all, congratulation!!

I'm currently studying for my Vertical Dance Certification, and we have a topic about pole dancing after giving birth. Here is what I would suggest (I'm not a doctor, so please ask your doc before attempting any phisical activity)

During pregnancy the abdominal wall have been stretched and parted, and the muscle weakened and lenghtened. Admominal exercises like crunches should ot be performed untill you regain your strenght. However, genle exercises like walking should start as soon as you feel ready. Extra care should be taken after a C Section when performing simple tasks

The best exercises that helps to regain strenght are called SAHARMANN EXERCISES. They are a program that may takes week to perfect, but it's extremely important that you perfect one exercise at the time before proceding to the next level.

When capable of performing all the program, you may be ready to go back on pole classes, but not before your doctor have checked your abdominal separation.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the advises, and most of all, to calm me down, cause this morning I was quite scared. Chiropractor soon, and a lot of positivity: is going to be ok 🙂

Thank you Peggy I will, but I will also go to the Chiropractor today because I'm pretty sure it's my sciatic nerve. It have been pinched few times in the past and I'm pretty sure is that. It's one of my weak point.

I have no idea how this pose is called, the one at the minute 2.56. It's not as painful or unconfortable as I thought. Give it a try!

    Hi there!

I'm gonna compete for the very first time in few months and I found all the advice very helpful, so thanks for starting this conversation 🙂

I'm gonna wear a two pieces that comes from a ballet shop, and the reason is because the bottom is nice and fitting but also MADE to cover during performance. You might look for something like that, and maybe custom it yourself…this is what I'm gonna do. Usually in shops like that they have some basics (tops too) that you can order in the fabric and color that you want.

For the theme, how about biker? I saw a Jedda Jordan's performance and it's super cool.

Another thing is to know what size the pole is gonna be: I found out that the comp will use a 40mm, and I always train with 45mm or 50mm! Hopefully you'll be luckier then me 🙂

Listen to the song over and over and over, till you puke! And yes, memorize the routine, but also try to freestyle a lot, so if something happens, you have a plan B…

This is what I'm doing, and I guess I'm gonna find out if I'm right soon enough :))

    Good luck!
