Echo, I think it is well stated to not wait for another day.  When I am feeling depressed, it's like I am in a battle with myself and which attitude will win….. I hate going through that, but all of us just have to pull ourselves out of the funk when we feel like that.  There is a saying that my grandfather always told me when something entered my life which I had doubts of being able to succeed.  He would say.. "You will either sink or swim, now which one are you going to do???"….. Although he asked me that question, I did not have an option… I better suck it up and swim or I will be pulled into swimming if I wanted to or not….  Life is hard especially dealing with life issues (present & past) in addition to dealing with this economy (if anyone else is affected by it) and it is easy to lay down and try to sleep it off or lay in bed letting it manifest even more…  Believe me, it is a struggle for me everyday… sometimes more than less, but I can't let this disease of depression get the best of me…. and I am telling all of you guys who are my new family that you can not let it get the best of you!  I never thought about being able to express myself with anyone the way I express myself to you guys, so you all also give me the motivation to not only read but to also think and pray that our days will be filled feeling better inside and out each day.  There are so many of us going through something that we have to pull through for eachother.  You never know… if one of us girls are looking for motivation and need to hear a positive word and if all of us are in our funk… who will be the one to put the weight on their back and pull us from sinking to the bottom to get us swimming????

You guys just don't know how you are helping me. Life is not easy and good friends are hard to find…. I am very thankful for you all and it is our duty as a pole group family to be there for eachother.   Porshka, you will make it through, just try your best to listen and/or read more positive than negative.  Tigger, you can join me on planning to get better at poling. ðŸ™‚  Guys, I know its rough, but we gotta hang in there.

Thanks for reading this guys and I wish everyone day good day.

Hi there. I am 39… will be 40 next month with kids, would like to lose
20-30 lbs and just the pole about
2 mos now … so im new to both poling & Veena. I agree with the girls and everyone is amazing here. I started about a week ago asking everyone “Is it required to attend a studio for poling” & the responses gave me more encouragement to do the pole without the pressures of attending a studio because the surprising amount of responses from awesome women with flexibility here have watched videos and Veena & looking at them you would think they had to attend the studio in order to become so good. Honestly, my learning experience at the studio was extremely minimal because I had difficulty seeing what the instructor was doing and everything was going way too fast for me, so I left thinking I wouldn’t be able to learn poling. The instructor was awesome, but with the class being mixed with all levels, it was a struggle for me especially since I had very minimal knowledge of grips and spins. With that being said, I decided to begin Veena’s lessons and its amazing. I am learning without the pressures of having to try keeping up with the class. I can watch the lessons continously and I have the ability to move on to the next lesson when I’m ready. I am so happy that I found this site which has given me the encouragement of knowing that I can advance in the skill of poling and everyone here to cheer

I have the same issue. Once I learned that music assisted me in calming down where my mind was able to rest and not always be in overdrive mode. Once I realized music was my heart, anytime I felt overwhelmed in the past and in the present, If I am able, I listen to music or if not, then I think of one of my favorite songs to humm quietly just to keep me going and not get tensed up. Since adding the pole to my activities, I am overjoyed. I must say, I am too busy focusing on learning the pole that it keeps me busy in my down time and while at work I am thinking of getting back to the pole to learn more. Finding StudioVeena just added to my passion of learning. The lessons here are wonderful and I’m learning more here than attending the studio. The members here are awesome too.

Thank you guys.  I will be joining the chats on Fridays.  Is there a specific time that I should log into the session?  I am on the west coast, so it will be PST?  Does anyone know the time schedule for Friday chat?

Wow guys… Thank you so much.  Reading this really encourages me.  For some reason I was thinking that in order to get to the intermediate and advanced levels, studio lessons was a must.  I am so happy that I've found this site.  I love reading the discussions and finding new friends.  I will be signing up to the lessons and see what happens for me.  Since I started out at a studio, I think my problem was not having a clear view to see what the instructor was doing…and being a visual learner over auditory, I found the basics to be extremely difficult.  In addition, I was trying to keep up with the class and did not know the basic grips or anything, so I did not catch on or caught on really realllly (lol)  slow with the instructor having to stop the routine in order to assist me which made me feel like an idiot.  LOL   On video and Veena, I can review it continuously until I get it so I think this may be a better source for me…  I'm praying.  Thank you so much.

Thanks guys.  In this economy, I can use what I already have and it will save me some cash.  I saw a pole solution cleaner online that was not in my price range.    Very appreciative of the information.  Have a good day guys.

Hi guys. So is it better to use alcohol rather than vinegar and wateron chrome. Is it alcohol and water or just the alcohol? Thank you.

HyperHorsegirl, when I began reading your posting to this, it sounded to me as you were speaking negatively about the girls who are not able to OR do not feel comfortable about taking their feet from the ground.  I felt a little bad because that is the problem I have been having but the studio that I am attending is going too fast for me where I do not know the proper hand placement, so it is extremely difficult to do the majority of beginner moves.  Although having this issue, I still tried my best but I can say that even the easy moves were hurting my hands.  Since It seemed like I was the only person struggling out of 8 people, I felt horrible about myself. With having a love for the pole, I still want to continue my learning but do not want to be embarrassed as it takes time to learn this art and some people catch on quicker than others.  I know that I need to strengthen my upper body which may be the main reason for my failure.  I don't want someone else to read a part of your post and stop reading thinking the entire posting is negative which is what I almost did.  Once I read about 3/4 of the post, I realized that you are actually giving suggestions as a way for the girls attending the pole party to feel sexy and uplifted no matter how much they are able to do.  Attending a pole party should be fun and exciting and everyone should have a good time.  I think that you offered a fantastic suggestion to GMwifey.
