Hey! I just wanted to add my two cents worth. I had trouble with my belly button piercing while poling. That piercing never completely healed to begin with and would flare up all the time, but when I was learning the corckscrew, it got so bad that I eventually took it out. I would tear it a little each time I attempted the corckscrew. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I do however see no problem with getting your "lady bits" pierced. I wouldn’t recommend the christina though. The christina is considered a surface piercing as you probably know and has a high rejection rate. It needs to be babied so it will heal properly. One little bump on the pole and it could possibly reject or greatly increase the healing time. I have both a VCH and a HCH and I would totally recommend a VCH to start with. I love my piercings! Both healed so fast (one or two weeks) and with NO problems at all! I agree that pole sits and the wrist sit can be a little uncomfortable, but my non-pierced friends say it’s uncomfortable for them too so that may be inevitable. I’ve had my VCH for a little over three years now and have never had a problem with it. I’ve been poling for a year and it has never gotten in the way, limited me, or been ripped on the pole. I actually forget I have them most of the time. I agree with all the other ladies on here too that for a VCH, a barbell is soooo much more comfortable than a captive ring. Oddly though, my HCH is more comfortable with a ring. I guess you just have to play with it (lol) and find out what’s right for you and your body.

I love tattoos!!! I totally understand the need for more body mods and worrying about it interfering with pole. I have this debate almost everyday. I have a tattoo on my upper rib cage and I simply couldn’t invert on that side for about two weeks while it healed. I actually went to pole the morning after I got it and it was fine. After two weeks it was good to go and I could do whatever I wanted on the pole. Maybe when you go to get a tattoo, either put it somewhere with minimal pole contact so you can still do other pole moves that don’t require that body part or expect to take a week or two off.

I’m excited for you and I wish you the best of luck in finding the perfect next body mod! Let us know what you decide on!

Thank you!!! The website said that if you don’t dress correctly, you won’t get it. I’m sure they are exaggerating a little, but it made me nervous anyway. Thank you for your response.

Oh! I found the website for the studio where Marlo (and you) teach. That’s very exciting! I’m not sure I will be able to afford a workshop, so I was contemplating doing a class at Shockra if they have classes/spots available while I’m there. I live in Florida and will only be in New York Friday through Sunday. I’m not sure a drop in mixed level class will be offered on the weekend, but I have my fingers crossed.

I’m so glad people are going to this competition! I don’t post often, but I’ve been dying for someone to write about this. This is my birthday weekend and I bought tickets to the competition as a birthday gift to myself! I’m really excited to see Marlo perform! This will also be my first time seeing a competition live!

I read that the dress is New York cocktail chic. I don’t dress up much and I’m not from New York. Anyone have any advice for me? Would just a medium length, nice, on-the-fancy-side type of dress and heels work?
