If you feel uncomfortable showing up in booty shorts and sports bra initially, just come in layers. I usually show up in yoga pants and tank top when going somewhere new and then peel off to sports bra and shorts as I warm up if it feels appropriate for the class. It almost always does.

Ugh. That is horrible. Sorry you had to go through that, but also happy to hear you stood up for yourself! What a creeper! Though some people would be that damn creepy even if there was no pole in the living room. Be safe ladies!

Haha I have had home inspectors, plumbers, appliance repair men, and exterminators all in my apartment where I had the pole in the middle of the living room, so they all saw it. All have been good sports about it and not creepy, but they DEFINITELY remember the apartment with the pole.

MemberApril 4, 2012 at 1:48 pm in reply to: What is your “off the pole” workout routine?Crossfit scares the heck out of me! And I have had a LOT of olympic lifting technique training in my past. (good lord, its been over 7 years since I have even done a snatch!) I hate going to the gym because I sit there and watch people do it wrong. I also see trainers teaching form incorrectly. All. The. Time. Crossfit definitely seems like something that is only advisable if you know your technique. Really well, too, since once a person gets tired, technique is usually the first thing to go.
I cross train pole with stretching workouts, as well as teaching and training trapeze & tissu. I am going to try to get into some yoga classes now that my boyfriend has started his training on the mainland, and also I bought a groupon for Pilates. I am very excited for that! I have found that I don't stick to workouts on my own, with the exception of running, which I don't even do anymore. Though I really liked my booty the best when I was doing that. 🙂

The Blow Monkeys – You Don't Own Me
Alice Cooper – Poison
Poison – Talk Dirty To Me, Nothing But a Good Time
Berlin – Take My Breath Away 🙂
Madonna – Justify My Love
A few random options (including some glam rock that ISN'T Def Leppard. I love them for dancing, but sometimes that gets a little boring. And I love Poison. A lot).

Was going to say that the closed/covered eye is only useful (I think) once you stop bc you’re dizzy. I don’t think an eye patch would help ;). Another option that some of the girls say help is to make hand “binoculars”. I guess narrowing the vision can be helpful. Again, won’t prevent the dizziness, just might help after you get a bit dizzy.

Add a swing to that and the spinning/Swing Combo can turn a lot of people off to it. I never have had a problem in the roughly three years I have done trap, until recently, when I closed my eyes in a single knee hang from the bar. It was swinging/spinning, and I was inverted. Can’t do that with eyes closed. Eyes open… No problem. Haha I was always the little kid on the fishing boat that never gets seasick. Even when the rest of my family does. And

MemberMarch 27, 2012 at 1:46 pm in reply to: spin mode barf fest! What should you do (or where should you look) with your eyes?i know that it's different for everyone, but finding an inward focus might help. this is not necessarily closing your eyes. i do a lot of dance trapeze on a swivel, which can maintain a beautiful spin like a pole. i don't get motionsick, seasick, etc etc. but everyone is different. if i close my eyes spinning on trap (only recently, wtf?!) i am instantly dizzy. its so much worse on trap than it ever is/was on pole. i thought i had inner ears of steel! what's horrible is that my trapeze duo partner can get motionsick watching ME on a spinning trapeze! from the ground! we keep ginger on hand (dried, pickled, chews, candied). Its not like bonine or dramamine, but can be helpful after the fact. also, sometimes closing/covering one eye can be helpful when it gets a bit much.

I noticed in bad kitty sizing that when I ordered the spiderback in medium, its a bit too small. I didnt want to deal with shipping back and forth, and its just for me so I kept it. I also have the iron x top in medium and it fits quite well. I think both the bondage and iron x tops run slightly larger in medium than the spider back, I have both and like the medium fit better than the spider back in medium. Also noticed that while I generally like the brazil shorts, I have a round booty and tiny waist, and they gap pretty badly.
I want some Mika, its so cute!

o yeah, also, my favorite mascara (if I wear makeup, I always wear mascara… my stubby little lashes are blond https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif) is Givenchy. Phenomen'Eyes Effet Extension. I literally can't go back to a regular mascara wand anymore, even though the price tag kind of freaks me out.

I am guessing that one doesn't actually NEED the cleanser, but that like any other product, they will always have their own companion product. I just wasn't sure if it was the cleanser or the product itself that everyone was raving about. Must be the product, if no one here is using the cleanser!
-
This may be a silly question, but does the Clarisonic provide great results if not using the Clarisonic cleanser product? Or is it the combo of the two that is so great? I am curious to try the brush product but have insanely sensitive skin, and would therefore probably never use the cleanser that comes with it.
