This doesn’t seem important but on spinning pole if you don’t swap sides you might end up spinning backwards in a crucifix twist. And makes trying ballerina easier on both sides if you can climb with both legs in both positions.
No advice for dealing with bruising except- it does get better!

I freestyle best to songs I know well because you know when the faster parts are coming up etc. Also for finishing at the same time as the song (songs I don’t know too well I end up going over into a different song).

Hi, I’m not in your size range but my favourite pole bottoms atm are bikini bottoms which are more boy short style (the blue flowery ones on my videos).
Maybe you can find some swimwear you could use, bikini bottoms with a high waist or so? -
Silkii is another one, plus aerial shops for the silks.

I poled from 2013-2016 and made essentially zero progress (I could climb and do a gemini and some other stuff).
We moved onto a boat, I bought and a frame and started lyra instead for about a year.
Started poling again summer of 2018, trained well for maybe 9 months ad made more progress then than I had in the years before. So all depends really. I did hardly any additional strength training first time round and had not a lot of time AND it was a 45mm pole, Inow have a 40mm) -
My pole seems to twist slightly on static too (no xlock) and the screws come loose.
I leave mine on spinning as I prefer that anyway and the screws seem to loosen more on static. On spinning it doesn’t seem to happen. -
We’ve had warm weather- yay for going swimming, disappointing pole week though getting too sweaty for freestyles. I’ve been working on freestlyes mostly, so it’s annoying to stop a video after barely a minute!
Also been practising superman exits, brass monkey (I can get into it but the entry is so sloppy) and maintaining spin on several inverted moves in a row. -
Xpole are likely to have extensions still in stock, most people will have been buying the pole sets, and less likely to have been buying extensions imo.
You can maybe work out which extension you need buy finding an xpole height chart and adjsting the height accordingly

I had that problem when I wanted to put mine up in our basement as had to take it down out of living room for a time. Our ceiling in basement is 2.13m, so close to what you have I think. Disappointing as in summer the basement is coolest…
You could try buying an extension to put it up in basement?
Agree with Veena, rugs under pole are a no go and anywhere near the pole you risk slipping on it or pushing the rug into things

Outdoor pole sessions today and yesterday- such fun being able to fully extend legs and not have to worry about the ceiling! I felt like I could spin for longer, my endurance was better… Lots of fun!
But as I didn’t want to embarass myself in front of the neighbours, I wasn’t able to practise new tricks XD -

I’d done an attitude spin before going into a climb before but thanks for the idea of adding the pose in the air between climbs too π
Looking forward to trying the rear leg hook crunch too -
First pole session today after about 2 weeks. I’d had to take the pole out of the living room as work was being done and all over normal rooms were too cluttered and it didn’t fit in the basement…so good to get back up!
@Phoenix fire bird that sounds nasty!

Thanks for your insight!
Unfortunately the ceiling is concrete as it’s the basement, so can’t do much there! I found a different plank and managed to install the pole but it doesn’t seem safe and seems to slip. Hopefully I can put it back up in the living room soon π -
I think clear shoes last longer, as boots would tend to have a material which could flake after prolonged use. Also clear uses stay clean longer (I scuffed my neon pink pleasers within weeks, which made me sad- messy exiting of handstands) Plus clear heels are cheaper than the boots.
Pleasers are not like normal high heels for street wear, as the toe and heel are made out of one piece, so you should walk safer in them than you would in high street heels.
As for damaging your floor, depends on the floor, what sort of floor do you have?
