If I understand this correctly, you would like to get ideas on how to share what you do and what you offer without demonstrating any moves because you can’t as you don’t have a stage pole.

What kind of location is it? Can you even take a pole for your presentation? If yes, then:
    1. You can ask people on this board to let you borrow a stage pole for that day or borrow it from someone close to where you live – if you are presenting, people would be interested in taking your class if you can demonstrate
    If no, then:
    1. show a 3 min. video of your moves or dance – on your laptop or a screen if it’s in a room where the presentation is. You can video some of the people who have taken lessons from you or you have worked with so can share what good things others have to say about you
    2. Highlight the benefits of pole in your talk
    3. Take some cards to distribute
    4. Most importantly share your story (journey) – there is nothing like sharing your own story to grab people’s attention and connect with them.
    5. I don’t know who your audiences but knowing and understanding who they are is a good idea so you can put together your story in a way that they could relate to – women in their 20s vs. women in their 30s, or 40s etc. Men???

If I misread your question then I am so sorry for commenting…. 🙁

I have xpole fee standing. It has metal base. U can check out xpole site finder what it looks like. It has been sitting at my house for about 2 yrs. The metal has a few heel scratches but nothing big. I wish I had pics of it to show but I’m too lazy to put it together to take a pic. If u rblooking for something like this, let me know and we will figure out a way for it to get to you.

I am with you MD. I have a pole but I don’t like poling at home. It’s so bad that I just feel like I dislike poling. But when I go to the studio, it’s a different story. I feel safe and I feel like learning. I come home all motivated and that motivation goes away in no time.

Thanks for posting this as I thought I was the only one and didn’t want to share it.

    Don’t know what to do………….

Get the Ayesha move. One of the hardest ones for me.
    Handstand
    Deadlift

Just practice more pole. For some reason, I’m just not motivated much anymore. I started about a year ago.

    Hi Mariebee,

It is a very good question. It’s one group a day. So you can be in a dancer or non-dancer background group. You would attend either the Thursday or Friday session.

    Hi all,

So, I’m guessing no who has looked at this post is interested in this. Do you know of someone who would be interested in being a part of this research? Please let me know.

    Thank you,

Ladies, ladies, ladies…. Thank you for posting your experiences of this split stuff. I’m having such an issue on my left side. I feel like something’s will pop when I’m doing the splits. I go for body adjustments routinely as I need to so I take care of myself well but damn these splits. My whole left side is a bit off anyway so I’ve just decided to tell myself that it may take 10 years or 10 lifetimes for me to achieve the split because of how I’m made. I practice pole on both sides as that’s something that my teacher always wants me to do and this is great and I have no issue doing a lot of the tricks on both sides to a point where it doesn’t matter which side it is, I just do whatever works out.

Splits are such and issue even though I practice at least 3 times a week.. I’m not giving up but I am going to announce it to you that I’m not getting my splits by xmas. Thanks for letting me share this. I feel better.

    Hi Verucablue,

I practice Bikram Yoga everyday but not hot yoga. It takes at least 3 tries to figure out if something is for you or not. I would say go back and just concentrate on breathing. That is the hardest thing to learn but the single most important thing because the postures are what they are and they come easily once you have learned to breathe.

It will make your skin really nice. You will definitely see it. Drink plenty of water during the day because that will help you more than drinking during class. You need to be hydrated before class. Don’t compare. Just don’t compare. I have been doing Bikram Yoga for 7 years and a lot of people think that I was born this flexy and strong person. I tell them my story and tell them that this yoga saved me. Hot yoga will help you with your flexibility for pole also. It goes hand in hand. It’s easier to stretch yourself in heat and not get hurt than in mild temperature.

One last thing, just listen to your body. It will tell you if something is too much when you are in class. Be compassionate with yourself but give yourself the opportunity to explore what you are capable of doing.

GO BACK TO CLASS! GO BACK TO CLASS!

    That's so great robinb….

I have only done that among my friends and few people at work but I sometimes still think about it before "coming out".  One day it will all be thing of the past.
