Oh! don't wait. Use pole to get where you want to go. I thought I needed to get more muscle or get stronger to do pole but I was wrong. Pole got me stronger and more flexible. You can use other types of exercises if you like but don't think that you need one before the other. Just do it…. NOW……..
Let us know how we can help…. I wish I had before and after pictures to show you. Just take your time and when you get frustrated, just visit us here and we will be here to listen…

MemberOctober 9, 2013 at 1:01 pm in reply to: Read this post on Psychology Today about Pole DancingThank you all for sharing. I'm really glad that this article started such a discussion. I definitely learned a lot from the discussion. I'm very protective and passionate of what I do and honestly, I was defensive when I first read the post on PsychToday but after reading all other perspectives, I'm just glad that I got to learn what I didn't know before.
Thank you Veena for giving us this site to share our feelings and what we are passionate about.
I was a very thin little girl and hated being called "skinny". I can't stand that word. And now, I love my body cuz I'm 115 llb of muscle. Pole gave me so much. I started pole classes sometime last year (so it has been a year now) I love that I get to experience my body in a whole different way now than I did when I was younger. And I guess that's why I get protective of it. I'm not where I want to be but I'm loving my journey of taking myself to a whole another level.
Thank you ladies for being on this journey with me…………….

We want more people educated on what we like so let's be proactive and educate them. I work too hard and have bruises to prove so it's hard to see someone making ignorant remarks on my art.

I feel I don't have that much upper body strength. I hate push ups. Recently, I read Stanford professor BJ Fogg's interview in Success Magazine and I stole his idea. Don't laugh at me but now every time I go to the bathroom at home, I do one push up. It comes out to at least 10 push ups a day. According to Mr. Fogg, once one push up seems too easy, I'll get motivated to do more and more and eventually, I'll be free of the unease that I get when I do push ups. Hopefully, I will get some strength in my upper body.
Also, I'm little scared of lay backs, so I have decided to give lay back a try everyday – only once a day. Let's see if Fogg's theory works. It's a great theory and will take me a while to explain but you can Google BJ Fogg Standfor professor and read all about it. Just an idea.

It bothers me when people in that position don't research and plant their opinions rather than facts. Too bad. I still need to comment on the blog. I'm trying to figure out right words so the writer can find some information and broaden her views.
We've got long ways to go………

Question ladies….
I have been trying my center (middle) splits for past few days. Today, I had this weird feeling in my left foot. it's actually my toes. My toes of my left foot got pretty warm. I didn't feel that in my right foot so I got a little concerned. It also went away once I got out of my split. I'm about 10-12 inches away from the floor
Has this happened to anyone? Do you guys know the possible reasons for this?
All your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you…………

Thanks Runemist34….
I will following your suggestions. Ok, so it does matter how long you hold the stretch. It's sometimes hard to find that fine line between discomfort and pain. I'm thinking 4 days a week would be good. Let's see how far I get by xmas.

I'm in. This will be something. I hate doing these cuz it hurts but since you are all in and will support me, I will do it.
Question: Do you practice everyday or few days a week?

I'm not sure where there are good aerial silk classes. There are only a few places that teach aerial silk in LA (shocking) but don't know if they are any good.
